We stayed there after travelling much of Europe and considering we had some pretty adverage hotels we were not expecting miracles with this hotel. We found it okay. It was a little musty but you got use to that quickly. The room was a good size the bed was comfortable enough the bathroom was a good size and clean. The... more

I finished up a 10 day trip throughout Italy with a night in Rome and we stayed at the Patria Hotel. When I was checking in, I asked the front desk person for the train times to the airport the next day and he rudely told me that he didn't have time to deal with that right now. Umm what?... more

I am just back this afternoon after 4 nights in Rome when I stayed at the hotel Patria. I have been in Rome several times and always book one of the three star hotels near Termini Station - after all Rome is itself the major star and a hotel is just somewhere to sleep in. Because of the booking sites... more

on arriving at hotel patria at about 12 our room was ready! FANTASTIC! the hotel is just what we needed. our twin room was great and more than adequately sized. fair enough the towels are like tea towels and table cloths, but hey, they do they job well. its excellently located and in walking distance of some great sights. i... more

We travelled in the world's smallest elevator to the 1950s, when this room was last updated. There was a musty smell and the bed didn't seem to have originated as a double- perhaps two smaller beds pushed together? Location is good, as you can quickly get to the trains. I wouldn't advise wandering about the neighborhood at night if you're... more

After arriving at their partner Hotel Augustea we were told the airconditioner wasn't working and were taken to Hotel Patria. We were tolerant of the problem but the room we were given was dirty; the bathroom had not been cleaned and the fridge had lumps of food in it. This problem was soon rectified but then we found the flush... more

Treat this hotel as the title suggests and you'll love the Patria. OK, so the breakfast seems a bit scrooge-like and the layout of the rooms and elevator have been under planned, but our three night stay was comfortable and friendly. My wife, my son and I visited Rome for three days and managed to see 70% of the main... more

As we walked into the hotel we were overwhelmed by a strong and over powering odor lingering in the lobby. We soon discovered that it was B.O. from the bell boy! Things got much worse when we discovered that the elevator only went up to the 4rth floor, and so we had to lug our heavy suitcases up the stairs,... more

We stayed at Hotel Patria for the first and last part of the stay of our trip to Rome. The first part we were put on the 5th floor. The room was small but had all the basic needs. It would have been nice to have fluffy towels rather than tea-cloth like ones but that was the least of my... more

We've asked to switch rooms as soon as we walked in ours only to find out that all of them are just as nasty. (Read on for the resolution) Not like terribly nasty but imagine a what must have been green carpet from the 80's, (shaggy) with banged up furniture and questionable bed covers. We were told that smoking is... more
