Just returned from a three day stay at the King Hotel, Via Sistina. Very enjoyable; charming and very helpful staff on Reception, pleasant room, spotlessly clean, and a decent breakfast to start the day. Stepping out of the hotel, turn right and a three minute walk takes you to the top of the Spanish Steps. From there, the Roman world... More

having read previous reviews as two single females we were quite worried. First room small asked to be moved - no problem bigger room less stairs - hotel staff brilliant nothing too much trouble. Breakfast more than adequate to start the day - after all you are in the centre of Rome. Beds comfy, shower hot and powerful - what... More

I have just returned from this hotel, and please do not believe all you read on this site! Yes the decor is very dated, and a little gloomy, however, my room was very clean, and was cleaned daily. The first floor bar area was comfortable, and the glasses of wine for 5 euros are very large! The breakfast was continental... More

Great location, friendly staff, that's all I can say good about it. The rooms are dark, smelly and the wallpaper/fabric was disgustingly dirty with holes in it. The bathroom is out of the 50's if not older, poor lighting, cables from the old AC messy running up the wall. Plastic cups instead of glasses, no tea and coffee making facilities.... More

The hotel is walking distance from Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain, a metro station, a Hop on Hop off Bus stop and many good restaurants. These are all it's good points. It is very basic, certainly no frills. From the rooms to the breakfast you should not be looking for anything fancy. Beds were very hard. We found the reception... More

The hotel per se isn't terrible. It's pretty central, Piazza di Spagna is minutes away, and Stazione Termini can be reached in 15 minutes tops by underground. Inside, the hotel is also pleasing to the eye (with the exception of the rather horrible lobby), and it's very large. But that's about it. I spent 90 € or so for the... More

We loved this hotel because it was small, charming and on a cobblestone street next to a Theatre. It was always abuzz with life, shopping, eating and easy walk to Spanish Steps, Trevi and the beautiful Palazzo Barberini art museum. We loved the little Italian cafe two doors down, managed by the young Lorenzo. The hotel clerk spoke English well... More
