I was a bit nervous about this hotel but as my partner had booked it as a surprise, there was nothing I could do about it. However, I was VERY pleasantly surprised. Our room (401) was small, but any city centre hotel room tends to be, but lovely. It was obviously one of the rooms which had been refurbished. The... more

Where do I begin?? Arrived to the hotel and my first impressions were not great as there was a really bad smell as we walked through the doors. When we entered the room I was disgusted and immediately couldnt wait to leave. The room was tiny, our suitcase had to stay on top of the dressing table as there was... more

I read the reviews prior to going and must admit I was more than skeptical but I wanted to be as central as possible and the price was very afforadable for the location so I though I'd take the plunge but I didn't expect anything above average. When I checked into my room, I was really amazed at how clean... more

This was the worst hotel that we stayed in. The lobby attendant was unfriendly, rooms were old and dirty. We were 11 in the group and all have the same complaints. Luckily we were able to get an apartment hotel nearby- Resedencia de ripetta. It costs the same as hotel king but definitely better in terms of room space, cleanliness... more

I stayed in this hotel for a wedding. I wasn't sure what it was going to be like after reading some of the reviews. The location was very good, very close to the Spanish steps and once I got my bearings, it was very easy to walk around all the sites. I got a single room which was ok, twin... more

Was a bit apprehensive about the hotel after reading some reviews, but it was much better than expected. The rooms were spacious and clean. Comfortable beds and adequate breakfast. The receptionist, breakfast staff and cleaning staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Although the rooftop terrace did not seem to be used much it was furnished with shades, tables and... more

I booked this hotel about four weeks before our first ever trip to Rome through the Thomson website, choosing the hotel from a long list, mainly for its location and price, then booked and paid for flights separately. I didn't look on Tripadvisor before booking as the pictures and hotel website looked fine. A few days later I happened to... more

I should have known better. I read the reviews but after a 3 week trip in Italy, it was the only hotel in town that allowed for a one night stay (I returned to Rome to fly back to the US). I needed the room for less than 24hrs. My room was disgusting. There were black marks on the cloth... more

This hotel is a real dump--it might have been elegant when it was built in 1953, but the furniture in the rooms have not been replaced since that time. The carpet was dirty and matted, the wallpaper is extremely dirty and falling off in some places. The sheets did look clean. It was awful disapointment. It does not deserve any... more
