We liked the Via Veneto area as it was just out of the centre of Rome, but only a 10-15 minute walk to Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Via del Corso etc and Via Veneto also has buses (including tour buses such as the 110) running along it and Barberini tube station is very close too. The hotel itself was small... more

This was our second visit to La Residenza; could not have been better! We arrived early from the US and were pretty jetlagged. Our room was ready by 10:30 a.m. which enabled us to unpack and unwind AND still go out and see some of the sights in Roma! Hotel rooms are wonderful -- large, airy and very well equipped.... more

Nice location. Walk to all major attractions. We did not take a cab anywhere. If you are ambitious you can take a nice 30 minute walk to St. Peter's from this hotel. Great breakfast. Clean and tidy rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. There are two gentlemen clubs on the same street but they are very discrete and low-key. They are... more

My husband and I, together with another couple, booked this hotel for a 3 night break. Our friends had stayed at a Gianetti hotel elsewhere in Italy and said it was definately worth a try. We were not disappointed. It is absolutely spotless, located near the centre, but on a quiet sidestreet (the lap dance club opposite is hardly worth... more

We stayed here two years ago and it's simply just as wonderful as last time. The breakfast has a wonderful selection of Italian pastries, fresh fruit, eggs cooked to order, cereals, etc....By hotel standards, you'd pay more than $15 a piece for a breakfast in the same Via Veneto area. Our room was charming! Heated towel racks, beds turned down... more

We booked this hotel for our honeymoon after reading great reviews about it. The rooms are clean but the decor and bathroom fixtures are definitely outdated, compared to other hotels we stayed at subsequently. On our first night, we asked the front desk for a restaurant recommendation and were told about a place in the neighborhood called Marcello's, which turned... more

We just returned from a 2 week holiday in Italy. Our last stop was Rome and we stayed at La Residenza. There are four of us. My husband, myself and two teenage boys. This hotel offered accomodation for four which made me more comfortable having the boys in the same room as us. BIG MISTAKE! They have rooms for four,... more

We booked La Residenza based on price and location. Also based on the positive reviews on this site. We had three days in Italy prior to our cruise. Two were at this hotel. We were warmly greeted by the staff, and our room ;while it didn't have a great view ; was HUGE for a european hotel room, with two... more

I have stayed at the La Residenza twice: in September 1997 and May 2008. Each time, I found the rooms to be quiet and comfortable. I personally find the location to be extremely convenient . I think it is an excellent value for the money. I would like to comment on some of the other reviews, in particular the complaints... more
