“One of the worst hotels in Rome”

We stayed in the Hotel Lugana over Valentines weekend in 2004 and left after the first night. The staff were unpleasant, the hotel was dirty and the double room allocated was two single camp beds in a single room. “Overbooking a problem”

My wife and I recently stayed at the Lugano march 15-march 20th. On arrival at 21.00hrs we were informed that only a single room in which a camp bed had been installed was available, instead of a twin which we had booked; free mini-bar offered as compensation. I stayed in the Lugano hotel in March 2004 for six nights. The lady at the hotel reservation office at Termini station said the hotel is "very basic", well, so it was. I know that you get what you pay for and this hotel was cheaper than most but I still think that we could have found a nicer room at the same price. Location is OK. Walking distance to Trevi fountain, Spanish Steps, Capuchin Crypt, and Metro. Room was small with older bedding, paint, curtains. Kind of dreary. Staff was OK.... More
