We had a "National Lamppon" experience with the Hotel Diplomatic. After a long drive from Sorrento, and circling around the hotel/Rome trying to find a place to park to check in, we finally got into the hotel only to find out that they gave our room away because we got there after 12 noon and it was their "high season".... more

Stayed from 12-15th July 2008. I chose it because the price seemed reasonable, plus the reviews suggested a good location and reasonable place to stay. I have to agree, that it definitely scores well. The room was quite small, but this wasn't a problem for us. The air conditioning was essential, even for mid july, and it enabled a good... more

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Hotel Diplocatic for just over a week in early August of 2007 and had a great time. The room was decent size (comparable to any holiday inn room), had air conditioning, buffet breakfast was included, was quiet, and met all of our needs. Great location just a few minutes walk to Castel Sant... more

Stayed 4 nights at this property in room 502. Room was adequete size, towels changed daily, sheets were not. Only one outlet, in the bathroom, to charge my camera and iPod. Irons are not allowed. Safe and mini frig in room. Breakfast consisted of a variety of pastries, juice, ham, salami, swiss cheese, cold cereal (but room temp milk....odd) yogurt.... more

Just returned from a trip to Rome with my sisters. We had adjacent rooms that were very clean and comfortable. Our rooms faced a very quiet street and we were not disturbed by any traffic noise. The breakfast was a cold buffet but there was ample choice and the staff were very friendly. This hotel is very convenient to all the... more

My partner and I stayed at the Diplomatic during easter. The hotel is small and has limited facilities but is ideal if you want a clean place to crash and see the city. Our room was small buy well equiped with a mini bar, LCD TV, nice wetroom type of bathroom. We were on the 5th floor and had a... more

Wonderful location - cannot say enough about how great the location is, truly it is- minutes from the Spanish Steps, the Vatican, and many other great attractions. The room was of a good size (compared to the 3 star we stayed at in Paris) and bath and shower were fine. A clock of some sort in the room would have... more

Chose this hotel as it seemed a good price for the convenience of being close to the centre of the City. It is really well situated and made our exploration of Rome very easy. Breakfast was quite simple but good quality. The room was comfortable, the bed was very firm. The toilet had a lingering sewage smell and despite reporting... more

My wife and I stayed here at the end of Oct 2007. The hotel is in a great location--close to Castel S'ant Angelo, the Vatican and Trevi Fountain. Also, if you need to take the bus, to go to the Coloseo for example, the bus stop is right outside the hotel. The staff was wonderful during our entire stay. They... more
