Arrived at hotel via private taxi which I had booked on the internet. The taxi driver could not speak any english but the staff at the hotel were very helpful in translating for us. We found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was comfortable and our room was very spacious and well planned out.... more

Spent two nights this week with my teenaged daughter. The room was OK - small, not fancy. Didn't feel like a 4 star hotel. Breakfast was mediocre at best. Staff was rude and unfriendly, not attentive to our needs, would not supply an adaptor, did not send promised technician to repair hair dryer. But the location was good - easy... more

We stayed at the Cicerone for 3 nights, June 30-july 2, 2008 and found that the hotel was more than gracious to us. We asked if we could have our room a bit early after being on an over night flight, no problem. We asked to keep the room a bit longer, until we could board our cruise ship, no... more

After the rain and cold temperatures of Dublin proved to be too much for our summer vacation, we decided to take a short trip to Rome and booked the Cicerone last minute for an excellent price. The Cicerone is a perfectly adequate hotel for a short stay. As this was my fourth time in Rome, I can say with some... more

We went on a Globus/Monograms tour and they booked us in this hotel. This is the second time I've stayed in it and I still liked it. The location for us was excellent - within walking distance of all the major sites. Three blocks from a Metro station. Lots of great restaurants, both cheap and expensive, within short range along... more

This was the hotel that was part of the tour we booked with Globus. Location is ideal. We stayed for 3 nights. The 1st night, we were given a room on the 1st floor. It was a small room and quite noisy due to the noise from the street, had a bad night sleep. The next day, we asked them... more

It was our first time in Rome and we didn't know what to expect from a hotel there. The Cicerone was excellent--clean and modern. We had a comfortable room with a king sized bed and a nice sized and very clean bathroom. The hotel price included a full "all you can eat" buffet breakfast with American-style coffee!!!! Best of all... more

This hotel was adequate. It was clean, free wireless in the room, good location but not deserving of the 4 stars. First off, in their defense, why does everything have to be so hard in Italy? The air conditioning in the room didn't work the first night, even after they had checked it and then they just left it with... more

This hotel is well located and the lobby looks exactly like the photo on this web. But the rooms in the photo appear large and they are not. They are small. The air conditioning was shut off at 9 p.m. one of the two nights there and not turned back on til 9 a.m. the next morning. That day the... more

The hotel does a great 'bait and switch' with the rooms; you pay an extraordinary price and get the most ordinary room! We paid about $400 a night, which is the advertised rate for a suite, and got a noisy, second floor room facing the street with two twin beds! The man at the desk, Guiseppe, was arrogant, rude, and... more
