My partner and i had a superb stay at the gallia,the room was very good ,the garden terrace is excellent,the mini bar had the cheapest beer and wine in rome which was consumed on the terrace,breakfast on the terrace was nice,the hotel is in a great location five minutes walk from termini and opposite the superb basilica of st maria... more

I have just returned from a stay in the Gallia Hotel and I dont have a bad word to say about it. I found the staff to be helpful and very friendly, the location is perfect within walking distance to the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and the Coliseum.And if you dont fancy the walk Termini station is five minutes away... more

This hotel was $150 nightly, but any place in America it would rent for $50 nightly. Probably a nice hotel back in the twenties and thirties. Stayed for Four days this July. Front desk very very unhelpfull, never experienced anything like it. a/c not working first two days, room safe not working, requested they change did so after 2 days, new one had no battery, asked but nothing done, they suggested 'we have a drawer in reception' sure... no toilet paper in room!! until requested! wallpaper... more

Before I went to Rome on a family holiday, I had looked on this site and was slightly apprehensive. It turns out that I had absolutely no need to be! We only stayed 2 nights. The first room that we had booked, a family room, was baking hot and the aircon was exactly that, a con, totally ineffective. Good Points:- Room was huge - far bigger than we expected for the money. Room was clean, water was hot etc. Breakfast was fine as were the waiting staff. The hotel is well situated, but the front of house staff could not give a damn about their guests. The air conditioning was not turned on centrally, but it could not have been used in the room (401) anyway as the unit was too noisy.
