We were recommended to the Colonna Palace by our travel agent and though it was in a great location I am not sure that I would recommend it to someone else. We had a tough time finding the hotel after taking a bus from the train station (much cheaper than a taxi, 2 euros vs. 50 euros!) since the hotel... more

Our friend recommended this hotel to us & we are glad he did. It is in the square with the Parliament & Government Building. Lots of security there so felt very safe. We got a large room (larger than most European rooms) with a view of the square & the buildings mentioned above. There was a large bed...really 2 beds... more

We had a very lovely room with a large window that opened onto the front of the Embassy - great for people watching too. Front desk personnel very friendly, one great bartender, one "ok" bartender. Walking distance to everything. All in all, a great stay. (take your own travel pillow) more

This is the second time I have stayed at Colonna Palace and the first time for my partner. My 1st time was a trip with friends, the hotel is great regardless of the type of break you intend. We would all choose this hotel again and were delighted with the location which makes all attractions walkable from base. The staff... more

The title says it all. The location is wonderful- I am a senior and was able to walk EVERYWHERE, from the Ghetto, to the Vatican, to the colosseum-etc. Breakfast was delightful, rooftop view of the entire city. Hotel itself really needs brightening- furnishings need an update. My bathroom was good, shower, bath, and it was recently done ( I think),... more

The Colonna Palace was one of the stops on my worldwind 30th birthday vacation. The location was awesome once my husband and I figured out where exactly we were. ( The Colonna is walking distance from the Pantheon and the Trevi Fountain and many clothing stores for those who love to shop) The rooms were nice, the staff was friendly... more

This is a hotel in Rome. It is very very centrally located. The bathroom in our room was recently redone and probably the most "americanized" bathroom I've had in a hotel in Europe. In the high season it is a bit pricey, but not outrageous. Location was well worth it and it is large enought to have a small hotel... more

Some of our employees checked into the hotel and realizing that they did not have the proper business cards, worked with the hotel staff to find a local printer and coordinate the efforts. Our cards were printed by the end of the day and the staff was more than courteous about our inconvenience by offering to pick up the cards... more

Bed: extremely hard with flat, hard pillows A/C: apparently Rome has an ordinance that prevents hotels from turning on the A/C except in the mid-summer months. With just one window there was no circulation and the room was stuffy and warm. They did provide a fan which helped. Noise: the piazza in front of the hotel is the location for... more

Colonna Palace Hotel ROME 11-15 Oct 07 Long time in posting review but hope it helps with choosing where to stay in Rome. We stayed 4 nights at this great hotel which couldn’t be more central in Rome. Very friendly and helpful staff. We had a HUGE room on the 5th floor (room 504?). We had opening windows that overlooked... more
