Although we had a bit of a rough start, (room mixup etc)., overall our stay at the Franklin was very enjoyable and the staff were very friendly. I have to agree with some of the other reviews, in that the hotel itself is a little off the beaten track, but this being said, it made for a good sleep. Our... more

Everyone was courteous and helpful. I loved both my rooms (I changed from a single to a double when my friend joined me). The breakfast was fresh and tasty and I very much appreciated the use of your hotel bicycles, at no charge. I loved the location! It is a lovely neighborhood and not as noisy as it is in... more

A great fun hotel but with a noise problem. WIth a music theme and B&O sound systems throughout, I expected 'noise proof' rooms. We stayed in the Jazz room on the bottom floor. You can't fault the rooms except for the wooden floating floors. Not such a problem in your room when you're barefoot, but in the morning every woman's... more

I stayed 2 nights at Frankin because it just sounded so different - plus it was close to the Vatican and that was our focus on our last day. Anyway, it was only about a 20 minute walk to the Vatican through a nice neighborhood, so that worked out well. The hotel has a unique music theme and this is... more

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. We stayed on night on our way through Rome. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The bedding and mattress were top quality -- a great place to sleep off some of that jet-lag. The music theme was amusing: our bedside tables were drum kits and there was a mirror ball in the... more

I highly recommend the Franklin. I took my nephew to Italy in June 2009 as a graduation gift. After extensive research on multiple sites, I decided to book this hotel. I have traveled extensively (34 countries so far) and am pretty picky about where I stay and I want good value and good service. The Franklin really exceeded my expectations.... more

Firstly the location of the Franklin hotel is in a residential area that is a good 10 minute walk from the nearest Metro station which is Ottaviano. It is also close to the Vatican, but for most other tourist areas and attractions you will need to get the Metro and travel further into Rome. Our poor customer experience began a... more

Arriving at the hotel in the late afternoon I was pleasantly surprised as we walked into the reception area; which was very cool, light and spacious. Upon walking into the room we were both very happy with the modern look, very cool bathroom and general appearance of the room. Everything was fine as we went to bed later that night...... more

We found the The Franklin Hotel online and were ecstatic that it exceeded our expectations in every way. "Feel the music..." is correct! Access to a large CD library for use on our sterio in-room was unique. The rooms are clean, funky and very comfortable. Having a shower with the music full blast was great fun and our friends next... more

The hotel itself is fine but after reading some of the great reviews on here, we had expected something a bit better. Unfortunately when we arrived the hotel had no record of our booking (which had been made through hotels.com) the guy at reception said we were lucky that they had a room for us anyway - not a great... more
