Accommodation was booked by travel agent who had checked out booklet of recommended hotels by large travel association. The room was dark with inadequate lighting and faced onto the busy street. The employees are great so I found myself apologizing for reporting that there were problems with the rooms I was given. i've read the other review and it is completely not true. i stayed there with a group of 24 other people and we all loved our stay in the hotel athena (for 3 nights). the rooms had a great view over the termini next door and all the hussel and bussel of life in Rome. the rooms were cleaned everyday... more

Don’t believe what you read about the Hotel Athena Rome (that is if it says anything good). We went there in July 2004 and it nearly spoilt our nice holiday in Italy. We read that it was a nice 3 star hotel near the centre of Rome and we went for it. We found something that we still can’t believe.... more
