the san lorenzo area was new to me, having always stayed bang in the middle of rome around navona or parthenon. i was worried it would be too far away from everything. we weren't and were in fact in the middle of a vibrant, gritty, university area well served with bars, restaurants, bankomats, pharmacies, laundromats, a square, a church, the... The room was clean and comfortable, the television had International News Channels. The breakfast was decent continental. Staff was polite. The location is a bit sketchy but overall the hotel was great. More

This was a comfortable place to be for a week. The four of us stayed in one room and it was quite clean, with satellite TV, effective air conditioning and a very convenient laptop with internet connection right in the room, as well as free Wi-fi. When you arrive, they suggest a cab, but the Termini train station was only... More

My boyfriend and I started our trip to Italy with a 3 night stay at Casa della Palma. Let me start by saying that I am quite picky when it comes to hotels and I spend much time searching tripadvisor before making a definitive decision. The three most important things to me when chosing a hotel in the city are:... More

Additionally to what is said in the previous review I suggest that you spend 6 Euros (at the newsagent's) for a map with Rome's public transport. That makes it even easier to use the underground, trams, busses ... and to find back -:) I totally agree that you should use the offered car service - for both ways. What we... More

We booked this through the hotel reservation service for GermanWings, the airline we used to get to Rome, because there was a special deal. Our requirements: clean, safe, cozy/comfy, good value, great atmosphere. All requirements mets! Our room (the "study") was lovely, with a very comfortable bed and big screen TV with satellite reception (great for watching BBC World after... More

So, I was impressed with the ratings Casa Della Palma got on Tripadvisor. All the comments were fair and pretty accurate; except for one big caveat. The room we got "Winter Garden" was infested with mosquitoes!!! Needless to go into details this was a nightmare :-((( Our complaints were addressed with electric mosquito swatter (means one has to be up... More

My fiance and I stayed here for four nights 3 to 7 May. Although we had hoped to stay in the winter garden room, we were actually put in the Master Bedroom which was very good. The room was huge and I know that rooms in Rome generally are very small. We had a huge bed and massive TV, fridge,... More

I found Casa della Palma on Cross-Pollinate. It was one of the cheapest accommodations on the website so we chose it without looking too much into it (Rick Steves had mentioned everything on Cross-pollinate was a good bet)...and I'm so glad we did. It was definitely outside of the popular tourist swarmed areas, but it was nice to get away... More

A piece of heaven in Rome...My Mom and I just returned from a stay here, and it was amazing. We had them arrange a car and driver to pick us up from Ciampino Airport, and it was the best 33 Euros we spent. When we arrived at the huge wooden doors in a little residential neighborhood, we wondered how it... More
