I came to Italy before my friends and stayed here by myself - 2 nights on arrival and 1 night a few weeks later before meeting friends the following day. The room you have makes a difference. At first I had - I think room 6 - which was seriously in need of redecoration (think dark with dirty stains), it... more

Our advice: STAY ANYWHERE ELSE BUT THERE!!!!! The hotel really is very 'fawlty' - much worst than the TV series after which the hotel is obviously named (Fawlty Towers) - a double irony. We booked a double superior with shower. Don't be fooled to thinking that this is a nice private room with a full bathroom. The room was not... more

My friend and I decided on Fawlty Towers for our trip to Rome, as it seemed like good value, and was very close to the Central Station. Upon arriving there, I was overwhelmed with a sense of foreboding. The lift (a wooden box, akin to a coffin on chains), was a bit of a squeeeze for two people and two... more

this is a two star hotel and pretty much meets expectations. Some of the other reviewers suggest a multitude of problems, but it seems to me like they were expecting a 3 or 4 star hotel. In terms of location, this hotel is excellent, especially if you use the 'Terravision' coach from Ciampino airport - it drops you 100meters from... more

My friend and I stayed at this so called Hotel in July 2006, and we were not impressed at all. We arrived in 37 degrees heat late on a Friday night to our Hotel. The foyer downstairs was filthy. looked like it it had never been cleaned and was thirty years old. Our welcome was brief. We waited 20 mins... more

We recently spent a weekend in one of the most beautiful cities, Rome. Unfortunately it was a quite busy weekend and we stayed in a hostel called Bubbles Rooms, which belongs to Hotel fawlty Towers. The location was alright but reviews we'd read beforehand didn't really make us looking forward to our first night. The next morning we even more... more

I thought it best to add my review, since I rely on Trip Advisor when booking hotels and realise other people do and wanted to warn people... keep reading. I first stayed at Fawlty Towers in 1998 while backpacking around Europe. It was exactly how Lonely Planet described it: cheap, clean and friendly. This is why we booked it again... more

We have stayed at Fawlty Towers several times over the past few years. When we originally stayed there it was a good value convenient budget place to stay. We actually booked into the sister hotel Bubbles where we had booked a double with a bathroom. The mangement took it upon themselves to swap us with no consultation to an overpriced... more

Yes, it's very inexpensive...located conveniently to Termini...and quiet...and clean. But, the rooms are gloomy and even smaller than you'd think. No phones, so bring an alarm to wake up because there will be no sunlight. No internet access anymore, either. Kitchen is well-equipped but also small. If you can, spend a few more bucks and try one of the other... more

In 20 years of traveling to places like India, Guatemala and Kenya, this is the worst hotel I've ever visited. It is completely infested with bed bugs -- they swarm the beds at night. I got about 50 bites in the course of a night. Completely disgusting. more
