Pros- Better than sleeping in airport or a subway station. Friendly owners. CONS- 1. I searched it for over two hours (Put a Sign up you morons, how would a person who has never been to Rome gonna find your hostel?) Even inside the building, no signs and dark. 2.No facilities whatsoever, nothing at all, not even a charging plug... More

Poorly signposted leading me to walk straight past it!! Very annoying trek up a million steps to reach the hostel itself. The hostel owner was quite rude and was very insistent on being paid as soon as I arrived. Breakfast wasn't included and there were no facilities for self catering or a common area for meeting fellow travellers. The hostel... More

Ew. Really. The place was filthy, unorganised, and it smelled. The staff doesn't make it any better, it seems clueless and treat you rudely. The bunkbeds are very close together. I got the top bed and felt I was almost sleeping with this other guy next to me... very weird. The place may have changed because I stayed there on... More

The place is never cleaned properly and falling apart. The rooms have an awful stench, beds are pitiful, lockers are appalling. My second night and last night thankfully, I went to hope into bed and found and old pillow and some window cleaner tucked under my sheets. Bathrooms are atrocious, often left without toilet paper, also you're asked to mop... More

Ok, so unlike the other reviewers I went during the hot season to Italy and this hostel has no air conditioning so I sweated like I never have before. This hostel is located on the 8th floor (I lost count after the sixth flight of stairs though) so you are carrying your luggage up a million stairs and sweating your... More

The thing that killed this hostel for us was that there was no heating, and this was in winter (early January!). They gave us thick blankets to help, but it's not a lot of fun freezing in your room. The bathroom was only ok; not the cleanest but tolerable. The hostel's also right at the top of the building, and... More

I have to say that this place is clearly run by people motivated by money. The standard of accommodation was definitely not worth the cost. The staff, probably being paid less than they deserved, made up for a lot of inadaquacies. I'd stay clear of Cheap Hostels (this is the franchise name) on whole. More
