Just returned from 4 nights at the Apollo Hotel in Rome. For a short stay, the location is perfect for walking to the primary tourist sites (we took the subway once - going to the Vatican, walked back). The neighborhood was great, a number of choices for restaurants and a few bars nearby, quiet side street, very safe. Our room... more

We stayed at the Apollo hotel for 3 nights and 4 days in the beginning of May. We got picked up from the airport and they made sure we were not overcharged. We also got there early and they let us leave our bags there till the room was ready and when we came back our bags were already waiting... more

Wow - it's amazing to step out of the hotel & see the Colosseum every morning. Yyou must start your day on the 5th floor terrace and enjoy the best-stocked "breakfast-bar" we've experienced in Europe- a nice selection of meats, cheeses, fruits and juices - try the A-C-E, its very refreshing. Also, there is a fantastic selection of cappucino &... more

location is apollo's best asset, it was a 5 min walk to the colliseum, 15 min to trevi fountain, 10 min to closest metro(the local A or B train cost is 1 euro, get ticket at machine), 15 min to termini station. small family run establishment is friendly, no real public areas except rooftop available breakfast only. my single room... more

Out of the four hotels we visited in Italy, the Apollo Hotel was our least favorite. It was the most expensive and the smallest. The owners have taken great care in furnishing and decorating the rooms, and despite it's small size (the rooms, the hallways, the elevator), it's very clean and polished. The room was dark (the one window let... more

I chose the hotel for its proximity to the Coliseum, as we were only staying for a few days and wanted to see as much as possible, The family who own the hotel were lovely and the room clean and comfortable. Its a perfect base for seeing the city, all the sites apart from the Vatican/Castel St. Angelo, which are... more

5 of us in 2x2 plus 1 rooms. We were on 4th floor overlooking street. It's a fairly quiet street especially at night. Room was OK. Modern. A little small & dark perhaps, but clean. Breakfast was good quality continental on roof terrace (up a flight of stairs). Location good. Possible to walk to Termini (main station) with backp[ack but... more

I chose his hotel based on location, as I only had one day in Rome and wanted to see the Colliseum, but in the end it was a very pleasant surprise. The hotel is very close to the main attractions and easy to get to using public transit. Just like the web site indicates it is 200m away from thr... more

Stayed in Rome a week. Location of this hotel is ideal. Far enough away from the Trevi fountain and Spanish Steps that you don't feel that you are in the middle of the tourist area, yet still close enough to walk to all attractions. (You need to take a taxi, bus or Metro to Vatican and Villa Borghese, but that's... more

Great Hotel! The rooms are clean and big. Location is great. The staff is very nice. We arrived at 7:30 am and our room was ready. We checked in and had breakfast (for free), which was great! Loved the cappuccinos. The gentleman in the reception gave us great touristic information. I would definitely go back to this hotel. I recommend... more
