Also try their Convent in Farfa, about 60 km north of Rome - that is even more some of an experience. And the countryside is very nice there. more

A welcoming, wonderful way to experience Rome. Close to Piazza Farnese, a hot spot amoung tourists and locals with a fun market and great food. This convent is run by kind, quiet nuns which is a relief from the hustle and bustle known as Rome. While this is not a place for those that enjoy getting crazy in their room,... more

I spent 3 weeks at Santa Brigida in a single room. Clean, spare, and with a hard bed, but a clean private bathroom, telephone and a/c. Breakfast was adequate, and dinners (request at breakfast) simple, multi-course, tasty and - wine served at request (you get your own bottle!) Library with some books in English. Big bonus? - the rooftop terrace!... more

What a divine experience staying with the Sisters of St. Brigid in Rome, Italy. My husband and I spent a good amount of time deciding where to stay during our visit to Rome in June 2008 and we have discovered a little piece of heaven. The convent is meticuously clean, serene, beautifully detailed with marble floors and wrought iron hand... more

I stayed here whilst on a study course. The guest rooms occupy approximately the front 1/3 of the historic convent. The location was a major plus - a 3 minute walk to Piazza Navona, about 20 min walk to the Vatican, 10-12 minutes to Pantheon, 15 minutes to Gallery Doria Pamphilj. There are many restaurants in the area, as well... more

We booked our stay based largely on positive Trip Advisor feedback and Rick Steve's description of a place where weary travelers will feel as if they have died and gone to heaven. If you haven't read it, the description in Bed and Blessings Italy: A Guide to Convents and Monasteries Available for Overnight Lodging is far more accurate. They describe... more

Returned last week in September, having spent 6 nights at the Casa di Santa Brigida, Piazza Farnese. We paid 110 euros for a single room, doubles are 170 euros including breakfast. There are no added taxes. When one considers the high prices for a room on the Upper East Side of Manhattan or our downtown San Francisco, this is a... more

As we are not accustomed to long walks and the cold of winter, we chose to stay at the Casa di Santa Brigida last January owing to its central location. It was a wise decision and although their accommodations are priced higher than other convents, one cannot get the same value-for-money deal elsewhere in central Rome. Our room was spotlessly... more

Our stay at Casa Di Santa Brigida was a pleasant surprise. We were't sure what to expect based on some of the earlier reviews, but we found the sisters to be warm, friendly and charming. We had no problems during our stay. The location is great because the convent is right next to the popular Campo De Fiori and Piazza... more

To truly enjoy and appreciate Italy in its state of being, I highly recommend staying in a convent or monastary. Casa Santa Brigida is extraordinary!!! The location is fabulous - central to most of the architectural sites, located in the Piazza Farnese there is always life in the area as well as great restaurants. more
