We were also on a Trafalgar tour in May. The lobby is modern, but tour groups stay in the older unremodeled area. Ergife website states that all rooms have been remodeled. The hall has wall paper peeling off and very worn. I don't think this area will ever be redone as long as Trafalgar and other groups continue to use... more

Stayed at this hotel,on the 15th and 16th of June 2008,we had read all the reviews and were prepared for the worst.after we arrived we were surprised to find that our room was fine, small but good. The staff at the hotel were great and treated us very well more

I visited this hotel with a Trafalgar Tour and just like the rest of the reviews - I noticed this hotel was antiquated. Luckily we stayed in the "modern" wing. At least the A/C worked well!! The pool was large and refreshing and we sat outside at night and enjoyed (well with a few drinks) the music. The reason we... more

I stayed at the Ergife Palace as part of a Trafalgar trip in May. It is not the greatest hotel mainly because the rooms are so very small but it is also not the worst. It helped that I had read previous reviews on this website and knew what to expect. The hotel lobby is very beautiful and modern. The... more

Ergife Hotel is a terrible experience if you want to visit Rome. The hall was very beautiful and nice. We checked in and they told us that to access our room we should walk until the end of the lobby and pass one door. We did it and after this door things started to get bad. Looked like a old... more

at first when I saw the other reviews for this hotel, I was horrified! however, I found this to be hotel very nice. The lobby, restaurant and my room were a 4* standard. I spoke to the managers regarding the bad reviews on the internet, and they said that there are some works going on, and that they are closing... more

This is a terrible place to stay. We read bad reviews on the internet and contacted our travel agent with our concerns. She said she would check with her Trafalgar Tours representative and let us know. When she called back she said the hotel was remodeled and that we should have not concerns. Trafalgar Tours reassured her. When we arrived... more

About one third (300?) of the rooms are under renovation. One third are waiting for renovation. One third are newly renovated. It´s very important to get the last mentioned (Which was the case for our group of 39) The one´s I asked was satisfied with their rooms. Our room, and most, had a balcony, no noise, equipment and size normal... more

We stayed here for two nights as part of a Transat holidays group tour. I read all the bad reviews before going and found them all to be accurate. Our first room had a bare bed leaning against the wall, so we asked for another room and received a damp, dank room in a dark corridor. The dampness permanently wrinkled... more

We stayed in this hotel as part of our Trafalgar Tour and were pleasantly surprised. Although very tired looking from the outside, the room we had was newly renovated and very nice! The overall style of the hotel is quite modern and the room includes an LCD TV and brand new furnishings and marble bathroom. A big plus is also... more
