The following is excerpts from my letter to the hotel after returning home. It describes in detail our horrible experience with the Ergife Hotel booked through Trafalgar Tours. I will try to post some of my pictures. August 15, 2007 General Manager Ergife Hotel Our stay at the Ergife Hotel was a most demeaning, frustrating, and depressing experience. I cannot... more

We stayed two nights, July 16 & 17, 2007. Driving up to the hotel, it did not look good - there is a round, rundown security guard house that was empty that gives a very bad first impression (no one was in it). Walking in, the lobby is very modern and clean. There is a good gift shop with a... more

Before we arrived at this hotel I read up on it on the internet. I heard all sorts of negative reviews and horror stories that the hotel was in a bad state. Instead we were pleasantly surprised to find out the opposite. Our room was modern, with a new bathroom, 2 queen beds with a flat screen tv appended to... more

I stayed here, and this place was nuts. The front desk was a nightmare, the rooms were OK, but the elevators sucked. The pool was really large, and what made the stay bearable was the bar by the pool and the crazy one man show at night. more

We had to find a last minute room in Rome and wound up here. It was miserable for so many reasons. Broken elevators, bad food, nasty smelling rooms, confusing customer service and more! Just don't ever stay there....no matter what! It was one of the longest nights of my life. But my husband and I have a good laugh when... more

Only deceny prevents me from really saying what I think!! Rooms used by several of our group needed major maintenance. The biggest problem however was the rudeness & disinterest of all staff encountered. They appeared to consider all guests a nuisance. Common courtesy was not even given. I am totally and completely dumbfounded that a tour organisation like Trafalgar even... more

When I consider that, in my opinion, Rome was the dirtiest, nastiest city we visited on our trip, the hotel was not a disappointment - merely par-for-the-course. The lobby is deceptively clean and modern. However, the rooms are small and smelly. During our two day stay, the hallways routinely smelled of smoldering electrical fire. Our room routinely smelled of a... more

We stayed at the Ergife July 20th thru 22 because our tour company put us there and we had no other choice. The rooms are small, the bed crumbles and the bathroom are small with towels of no thicker than a tablecloth. I couldn't believe when my wife told me that these were the towels. One of the elevators was... more

Avoid this hotel. The lobby is spacious but it's all downhill from there. The rooms are small --- like a closet -- my roommate and I were tripping over each other and each other's suitcases. The staff at reception was surly. One good thing --- the pool is HUGE and was a God-send after a long day of tripping through... more

Our flight back to the states was cancelled so the airline put up 200 people at this hotel. The initial impression of the lobby was absolutely awesome. A BEAUTIFUL huge lobbly magnificently furnished. We were efficiently registered into rooms -- and found we were assigned to beautiful newly remodeled rooms. The modern furnishings were tasefully done--lovely draperies covering a wall... more
