We stayed at this hotel in early September for 2 nights on our Trafalgar Tour through Europe. It was a lovely hotel, it is an old monastery converted into a hotel and it is located about a 20 minute drive from the centre of Rome. The rooms are very modern, clean & lovely with all the amenities you need. The... more

The hotel is situated 45 minutes away from Rome, by car. We had a room with a view on a garbage belt of the hotel itself. The bathroom had a showerhead that was out of order. The room was quiet during night, so we had a good sleep. The housekeeping girls are not very friendly. The breakfast buffet was not... more

This might have been a nice hotel .. but we would not know. We booked into the hotel specifically for the photos hoping it lived up to expectations. The location is poor as it is quite a way out of the city. Upon arrival we were told that they had booked us into another hotel. They had obviously overbooked but... more

A little dubious after reading reviews on web site - we had booked via expedia and were concerned that we had paid so little for such opulance!!!! No problems though, staff totally helpfull throughout. We did not eat at hotel and brought lunch to take out at the nearby supermarket :nb: buy your water here as six bottles only cost... more

I read many reviews before committing to stay at the Grand Hotel Palazzo Carpegna and I must say that on the average they were not misleading. The breakfast is stellar. A wide selection of meats- both hot and cold; many bread selections, a cappuccino/coffee maker, many fresh fruits, and plenty of cereal to help fuel you for a day of... more

We stayed in the hotel from 22 to 26 June 2009. The hotel is actually lot worse than advertised. It is a very old and run down building but expensive. Rooms are tiny, highspeed internet was advertised but unavailable during our stay, we were told that it was broken. Food in the restaurant was far from being Italian as fas... more

Stayed with my family for a long weekend - took my dad for his birthday to see the sights particularly the Vatican. Hotel very clean and comfortable with a super breakfast buffet - hot and cold food not just the basic bread and coffee. Only 5 mins from metro station which is 3 stops from Vatican and gives real easy... more

We went to Rome for a long weekend. It was a gift for me and my husband from our son. When we arrived at Rome Airport, we had been prepared to find a Taxi to get to our Hotel. However we were approached by a friendly man asking if we wanted a shuttle bus to our Hotel. He had four... more

I booked this hotel because I had a really early morning flight out of Fiumicino and wanted to be on the way out of town, on Via Aurelia, instead of in the center. For that it was good, but otherwise I would have stayed close to the center even if it meant spending the same for less. The hotel isn't... more

We had never been to Rome and so weren't sure about the location. Whilst it was out of the city there was excellent access via the metro which was a short stroll away. We had 2 rooms, a suite and a classic room as we were travelling with our teenage daughters. Both rooms were lovely- contemporary and relatively spacious. The... more
