The location of Montecarlo is not central and we had a hard time finding the hotel. Reception was not exceptionally helpful or warm. We preferred to take the bus around instead of train as the hotel seemed far from the train station. However, the nearest bus stop was still a ten minute walk away. The bus route was quite good,... more

We booked a quad room for 2 adults and 2 kids. The room was clean and nicely decorated. The bathroom was spacious and the air con worked well. The walk from the termini is about 20 minutes, any more and we would have taken a cab with two kids. The breakfast is so so but overall we were satisfied with... more

See review by zam72 of Oulu Finland, he/she describe this hotel very well. We also stayed at the Milani hotel which was also within walking distance. We found the A/C adequate, could have been better. Wifi or internet was $1 euro for 20 minutes but was fast. The TV's were small but had some english stations. The elevator was cool,... more

We stayed 4 nights in Hotel Montecarlo when we visited Rome in July 2009. The Hotel Montecarlo is well situated close to Roma Termini railway station (ca 10 min walk). However, the metro station Castro Pretorio (line B) is closer to the hotel than the Termini station. There are plenty of hotels in the area and also many embassies are... more

I was very pleased with everything. Room was clean. Breakfast was included, and the brioche and cappuccino were delicious! The staff was exceptionally honest, courteous, professional, and friendly. I had checked out and discovered on return to the States that I had left a fairly expensive gift of jewelry in the room. Without much hope of recovery, I called and... more

My partner and I have just recently returned from our 4 night stay at the Montecarlo Hotel. The hotel was easy to find and conveniently situated for the central train and bus station (Termini). Approximately 10-15mins walk. Also close by is the tour company ‘Enjoy Rome‘ who can also help with tourist information. The check in for this hotel went... more

Most of the staff, particularly Franco, is VERY helpful and friendly! He trully made my stay very enjoyable...offering to make capuccino's for me late in the evening, searching restaurants to suit my moods, and recommending attractions I might enjoy...like Villa D'este in Tivoli...I've been to Rome 3 times and each time I've stayed at the Montecarlo..mostly because of his excellent... more

I had a very pleasant stay at hotel Montecarlo. The day and evening concierge were always kind and courteous- and extremely helpful with finding landmarks, directions. etc. I am hoping to go back to Italy, and I would most likely stay at Hotel Montecarlo. (Unless they are booked!) Its location is quiet, which personally I like, yet it is within... more

We stayed at the Montecarlo twice- before and after our cruise. The first visit was for 2 nights and the second was only one night. Both rooms were so very quiet and peaceful and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was quite good. The air conditioning worked amazingly well- it was so hot in Rome that we really appreciated the a.c.! The... more

We stayed there one night before our cruise, because we were taking train to Civitavechia from Termini. The hotel room is small, which is standard in europe, but the shower is really small, its hard to put soap on, i dropped it twice, had to get out of shower to pick it up, and i weigh 112 pounds, dont know... more
