I stayed at the Hotel Silva with my best friend on a 'Girls week away' in Rome at the beginning of October. We wanted somewhere small, clean and good value for money - our time was to be spent in the city, the hotel was just for sleeping. The Hotel Silva provided just what we needed, a small but clean... The problems began as soon as we were shown to our room. We were quite warm from dragging our baggage from the Bologna Metro station. The temperature was around 85F and very humid. We turned on the Air Conditioner and it didn't work. I went back to the front desk and was informed that they turn off the A/C in... More

The room was small, but clean. But the temp's were in the 80's with 60degree humidity. We were told the air conditioning had been turned off Sep 1st. Eventually, we were given a room in the basement that was on a different system. But everything in the basement echoed! Anyone opening a door down there woke us up. Didn't appreciate... More

I have just left this hotel this morning, stayed in for 4nights in a single room 101 downstairs. Lovely, clean and cosy hotel with a good reception and restaurant service, however location of my room wasn't ideal, the window was facing tables outside restaurant which meant that on the first night I was party to conversations that people were partaking in, they... On arrival we were shown to a standard room as all the economy/budget rooms were taken! The room was clean and certainly nicer than we had expected, and the young lady on reception was friendly and explained the situation to us. We were only to be in this larger room for one night and then if we left all our... More

My unfortunate experience with Silva Hotel began with receiving a room key. I was asked to pay 2 euro daily additional fee and walk to the basement of the building carrying my heavy travel bag. Following the signs "Toilet" I found my room just next door to them. A clean, but dark and cold room was waiting for me. I... More

Great value in a nice residential area, close by the Bologna metro stop. But if you like walking, getting to Villa Borghese is a nice stroll and you can take Via Nomentana to the Center. The staff was friendly and helpful and the room basic but clean. My only complain would be no Internet access in the rooms , I... More

My wife and I just completed a stay at this hotel and to be honest, would never recommend this as a place to stay unless you are paying 50 euro or less per night. pro:1) location is 5 min from balogna metro which means you have all of rome at your fingertips 2)young lady at the front desk during the... I found my room warm and welcoming, with a comfortable bed and cool air conditioning. I had a good breakfast with fresh "CORNETTOS" and "NUTELLA", included. The Hotel has no private parking, but it is easy to park in the area.
