I recently stayed at La Lumiere during a business/leisure trip to Rome. I was so very pleased with La Lumiere.. after seeing few pleasant reveiws on trip advisor I was initially hesitant, but this hotel turned out to be one of the best hotels that I exerienced during my 3 week sojourn through Europe. Lu Lumiere set a wonderful tone... More

Can't beat this location for general an overall Roman visit. Many things are within walking distance and the subway is nearby. Hotel was also very good at getting us a taxi that was safe and fair. After cutting the meter off, one taxi tried to demand more than as was appropriate and the hotel owner had a few words with... More

There are much nicer hotels in this area for the same money. This property is extremely over priced for what it is. Be warned that if you do stay here - the beds are extremely uncomfortable. If they are full, you will find they have no extra pillows (2 per room total) no extra sheets - ours didn't get changed... More

The hotel is located in a great area and because of being located on a pedestrian street it was QUIET. Which is rare in Rome. While the carpet thru-out the common halls could use a refurbish the rooms were spotless and the beds amazingly comfortable. Breakfast was adequate.... one thing that we would have liked is a lounge/bar-but this hotel... More

After reading some of the reviews we were prepared for a pretty mediocre stay. However, we found that this small hotel was a very charming place to stay in Rome. As others have said before, the location cannot be beat -- just a few blocks from the Spanish Steps in an area where pedestrians rule. Only taxis and other authorized... More

Only 10 rooms in this conveniently located hotel: four each on the third and fourth floor and two on the fifth floor (Remember that in Europe the main floor is the Lobby, with the first floor one flight up.) Room 502 does offer a balcony. Its main (and perhaps only) favorable attribute is its location on the very upscale shopping... More

Great hotel for the value. Rooms are a good size, clean and nice. Its a small hotel with a TINY elevator that does not come to you if someone on another floor forgot to shut the door. I would not recommend for elderly or disabled because there is a chance you will have to use the stairs. The location is... More

I stayed at La Lumiere di Piazza di Spagna for six nights (August 19-25) during my last leg of the trip. I was a little apprehensive because it was not highly ranked on the TA Forum. However, it was more than I expected. The staff was extremely helpful. The room was spacious enough for the two of us. The only... More

Excellent location a stone's throw from the Spanish Steps so really easy to get to all the famous sights and landmarks. The hotel was compact, the room (Junior Suite) was quite small but big enough for the two of us. The private terrace that accompanies it was lovely and if you lean over the edge you can see the Spanish... More

The one thing this hotel has going for it is the location. Near the Spanish Steps in a fashionable neighborhood. Rooms are small. Shower is smaller. Elevator is still smaller! Overpriced for what you get, other than the location More
