The Hotel Canova is a short walk from Termini (the main train station) and 1 block from the main road. It is about a 10 minute walk to the Colosseum and Roman Forum and within walking distance of most other attractions. It is a 5-7 minute walk to the train station where you can take a bus to the Vatican.... more

We stayed at the Canova for 3 nights as the kickoff of our honeymoon. We loved the hotel. Yes the rooms are small but that is standard across Rome plus we were not there to hang out in the room all day. The room was clean, the staff friendly and the roof top terrace was lovely. The hotel was quiet... more

After reading the many reviews, I was a little apprehensive about what the Hotel Canova would be like, however I was pleasantly surprised. The gentleman that was on reception in the evening was so friendly and welcoming and extremely likeable. The location was perfect - the main reason being that there is a metro at the end of the road... more

Our four night visit to Rome was marred by terrible weather but we had a warm welcome at the Hotel Canova. Our room was on the fifth floor, and small, but prettily decorated. There was however very little wardrobe space, and if we didn't feel like waiting for the lift we took the risk of falling down the steep stairs... more

The location is not great around even though it is closer to Termini Station rather than the Colisseum. It is very expensive to what it is. Around the area are lots of hotels and the prices a little bit better. I would say it is a 2 stars hotel with A/C. Breakfast definitely not the best. Terrible and cheap ham,... more

On first impression we were very dissapointed with our room in Hotel Canova- it was small, pokey, lacked a bathroom window , had no hangers to hang our clothes and the walls were dirty. However as the time passed the friendly staff , wonderful breakfast and good air conditioning made up for this. Also its location is second to none being just... more

Hotel Canova is very good in general. Although there are some not so positive points, it wouldn't be fair if I will focus on them alone without emphasizing the positive things that Hotel Canova offers. As with most other hotels, the hotel is in an old traditional but refurbished building. First, it is located in a good location, close to... more

We have just returned from a four day trip to Rome. We stayed at the Hotel canova and found it to be a very pleasant experience. The hotel was small and informal. The bedrooms were well appointed and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was perfectly acceptable and included fruit juice, cereal, fresh coffee, crossiants etc. We enjoyed dining in the little breakfast room... more

I booked the Hotel Canova for a group of 10 people travelling from Ireland on October 21st 2005 to for 4 nights. The Hotel staff were very helpful prior to our departure I was in contact with them via email and they organised a taxi pick up from the airport for us. All the group were very satisfied with the... more

I think the three-star rating of Hotel Canova is misleading. My friends and I booked three rooms at Canova for our stay in Rome. One couple fled the hotel before our trip ended. Be prepared for very small rooms, some strange odors, odd stains, and lots of trips up and down the stairs. On the Saturday night of our stay,... more
