The hotel is 5 minutes walk from the Vatican. There is a nice family atmosphere to it. No breakfast but you can make your own tea/coffee 24hrs a day. We stayed in one of the two cheaper rooms with a private sink but shared bathroom, which was very clean and used by one other room only. Most rooms have a... more

We stayed here for 5 nights in May 2007 and again for 3 nights in October 2009. We liked the residential neighborhood location, and the proximity to the metro station makes it convenient to get anywhere in Rome. Yes, the bed was hard and the towels reminded me of tablecloth fabric, but the beds are hard at every hotel I... more

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights while in Rome. It is located near Vatican City and is a short walk to a metro stop. We had a room with its own bathroom, which was small but nice. The biggest problem we had with this hotel was the lack of AC. We used the Lonely Planet Italy guide to... more

We stayed here two years ago for 5 nights - this time we have stayed for 3. We have been very happy here both times. The location is great - it is away from the tourists so the food in nearby restaurants and eateries is what the locals eat and is better quality and much cheaper. The rooms are clean... more

They say they have AC, guess what, they turn it off for the month of Sept. Check the temp. in Rome in Sept. Open the window for some air and hear the trafic and loud mouth Italians in the streets below. The walls are thin, at least to the next room's bathroom. I thought my head was in their toilet... more

My husband and I decided to spend a week in Rome just after Easter, and after seeing favourable reviews for Hotel San Pietrino both on Trip Advisor and in the Lonely Planet guide, we decided to go for it. The hotel is located on what is mainly a residential street (though there are shops and businesses too) about 10-15 mins... more

This tiny, inexpensive hotel (actually, a converted apartment) was generally clean and the staff was polite. Bring your own towel, theirs are clean but are towel-sized bedsheet linen. Decent location, not a bad neighborhood, close to a metro stop and 5 minutes walk from the Vatican. For Americans, without asking, they convert your bill from euros to dollars, so speak... more

The bed was very firm, hard even. The pillows were overly flat. The room was incredibly dark, and we couldn't open the window because our window opened into the laundry room/service area. We stayed in the first room next to reception, so a shared wall. All the walls are paper-thin, so we heard anyone who came and went, anyone who... more

We thought the best feature of the San Pietrino is its very good location. Rome is a busy, noisy and often dirty city but this hotel is located in a nice residential area, not far from a Metro stop (Ottaviano) and the Vatican. Also, this neighborhood seemed quite safe after dark --- an important consideration is this city. The hotel... more

We stayed at the Hotel San Pietrino for 4 days in late March, and overall our stay was great. The room was clean, and there was a TV with a DVD player (which we didn't use, but still- nice touch). We had our own bathroom and paid 83 euro per night. The shower was small, but there was plenty of... more
