The hotel Ercoli far exceeded our expectations. We walked 15 minutes from the Statione Termini, entered via a small lift to the 3rd floor where the hotel was located, and were greeted by warm, friendly, homely people. We encountered 4 different members of staff and all were lovely and very helpful. Most spoke enough English to help us out with... more

Stayed at this hotel with a group of friends and found it excellent for the price, Rooms spotless, good size, towels changed every day. As on previous reviews the shower has to been seen to be believed but you just get on with it. The staff were extremely helpful in giving directions, bus numbers and booking a restaurant for us... more

We stayed three nights in this hotel in August 2005. Although a little out of the way, this hotel is in walking distance to a metro station and just fine for touring all the sights of Rome. The room was thoroughly adequate, plenty of room, fine bed, spotlessly clean, good storage space, and airconditioning. The bathroom was fine, shower is... more

This hotel is affordable and relatively clean but there are some things to be wary of. The towels were not changed daily, almost none of the staff spoke English and were not approachable, the showers were tiny and the water temperature unstable. Overall it was OK but we would rate it the lowest out of the 6 different hotels we... more

Agree with the other reviews, we stayed here 5 nights in February 2005. Great value for the location. Spotlessly clean and friendly staff - and yes, the shower's are teeny-tiny. Our toilet ran incessantly, the manager tried to fix it but couldn't but when we closed the bathroom door we couldn't hear it. Looking at a map it seemed far... more

The hotel is rated as 2* but it actually deserves 3*. Rooms are perfectly clean, not too small, fresh towels provided every day. The only bad thig is a tiny shower. The staff is very helpful, they will get you a cheap cab, book a table at a restaurant (I'd strongly reccomend La Cantinola - great food, excellent service, very... more

Only seventy euros a night. The rooms were big and clean. It's about a ten minute walk to Termini. The breakfast was OK, fresh rolls and coffee and juice. The staff was friendly but didn't speak much English. Excellent for the price. more

I agree with the other reviews, this hotel was outstanding for a resonable price (80 Euro / day for a double with shower). The staff was very friendly, even helping us in our goal to rearrange our travel plans later in the trip, and letting us access their internet connection. Rooms were spotlessly clean. Yeah, the shower was quite small... more

I use tripadvisor alot to find reasonable accommodation and its come up trumps every time. This is my contribution. The hotel has been refurbished wonderfully although they could do with loosing the bidet and fitting a larger shower (don't even try to bend down!) hot water intermittent depending on if next room is using it too! Lovely breakfast , quiet... more

The hotel is small but very comfortable and the staff very friendly. Our only criticism would be the showers - they are very small and the controls don't appear to work too well. However , for us it was more than adequate - plenty of clean towels every day. Value for money you couldn't get much better. Location wise extremely... more
