Stayed at Oceania Mar 09 and it was the last stop on my heavily budgeted trip. The guidebooks made it sound like it's near the train station and it may not be a safe neighborhood. It's actually across the street from the Ministry of Defense. Even when I walked there at night as a single female I felt perfectly safe.... more

Fist, it is hard to find this hotel. Even with the address. Once there, it is located on the third floor of a shared office building. If you are afraid of tiny old elvators, just know that will will have to climb three floors with your luggage to get there. No bellmen, no frills, not much service. Beds hard. Towels... more

I paid 158 euros per night, They insisted on cash or they would increase the price by 20 euros per night. The hotel is on the third floor of an old building. The view of the courtyard looks like the ghetto. The elevator is so old it looks gothic and is broken half the time and you have to hike... more

We stayed here for 2 nights Sep 3- Sep 5 the room had a very clean look, decent size, with a OK sized, fully fitted bathroom for 200 euro in cash- 100 euro per night. The location of this hotel is great, just 15 minutes walk to Roma Termini and 10 minute walk to Republica metro station. The hotel is... more

I stayed at Hotel Oceania in the beginning of September with my sister and we had a nice stay there. The staff is very friendly, nice and helpful. They arranged a taxi for us to the airport our last day too. For a budget hotel (found through Rick Steves' guidebook), we found it to be very nice. We stayed in... more

This is a cozy, tucked-away retreat from the busy streets of Rome. Our room was quiet and the owner was attentive and helpful (spoke English well). The breakfast room is a warm and inviting setting with a decent variety of food. The bed was not very comfortable (although I am extremely picky) but every other part of our stay was... more

Overall, I would recommend this hotel to budget travelers. Many Rick Steves fans stay here, and most are American. Thus, the staff speaks English fairly well. I stayed here for 5 nights, July 2009. The staff is friendly and enthusiastic. The rooms are renovated and clean. However, there are a few things that many reviews seem to be missing. The... more

We enjoyed our stay at this clean, quiet, family run budget hotel. Loved the lift and thought it added character to our stay. Rick Steves was right in that they serve the yummiest cappuccino's in the morning with breakfast. The only downside is that they serve breakfast no earlier than 8am and on the last morning of our stay we... more

We stayed just one night but will surely stay here when again in Rome. Large old room with great renovated bathroom. Very clean and comfortable. Staff couldn't be nicer or more helpful. Even packed us a take away breakfast because we had to leave early. more

We enjoyed our stay. the room was nicely appointed and had a real double bed not just two twins pushed together. We were in room #15, it was very quiet. I liked having a safe and a mini frig. Staff at the desk was very friendly and helpful. We never got breakfast because we had a tour of the Vatican... more
