This is the worst place i have ever stayed in. The room is tiny if your bigger than a size 12 you won't fit in the shower, when your sat on toilet your practially under the sink. The bed is harder than a rock, very uncomfortable. No english channels on t,v no tea or coffee facilities available.Breakfast is a joke, 1... more

Located a block from the Portia Pia. Close to metro and bus. Excellent restaurants near by; they will also sell you wine by the bottle to sip at the hotel terrace. Front office staff helpful and friendly. Rooms very small; could hardly move in them. Hopefully you don't have much luggage. Nice fan but no air conditioning. Bathroom very small... more

I enjoyed my first visit, Nov 2008, and returned April 2009. Rome is such an exciting city so all you need in an hotel is a comfortable bed in a clean room with en-suite. This is the Galeno. The staff are helpful and friendly. A filling continental breakfast is provided in a friendly dining area. I walk everywhere in Rome,... more

This hotel was very well placed close to the metro and the Termini station. A good location for a city break. The bedding was clean and towels replaced daily. Felt safe as there was a locked gate and the hotel reception was open 24 hours. The rooms were compact which is not a problem if you are only sleeping there.... more

Although rated as a budget hotel ,standards were below par.Bedding was clean but on asking for extra pillows I had to ask again the following day as they had not been provided. Paper was peeling off the walls and the general condition was very run down. Breakfast was very dissapointing .There was no choice and what there was was served... more

We booked this hotel on alpharooms.com it was on offer "pay 2 nites get the third one free" so we paid 98 euro in total for a double room for 3 nights which was really great value! The hotel is basic with very small rooms but clean and on excellent location, just few minutes walk to termini station and 20-30... more

We chose Hotel Galeno mainly because of it's price; a real bargain for a hotel in Rome which includes a breakfast, and quite a good one at that! The hotel is situated near the Embassies; quite far out of the centre and from the main attractions, however we did walk every day. It took between 30 and 45 minutes depending... more

We just returned from a two week vacation to Italy. Our first three days there we spent in Rome and stayed at the Hotel Galeno. A three star and on the cheaper end of hotel rooms in Rome but I would highly recommend it. Had no issues at all. The staff was very nice - most of them spoke English.... more

Just for those who are thinking about spending some days in Rome, I recommend you not to go near this hotel. It is four days since we arrived and our experience in this hotel is as follows: the room was tiny (even for European standards!), one of the so called bedside tables was broken, the air condiotining was non existing... more

Before booking any hotel, I carefully read all reviews. Having travelled quite a lot, I tend to pick up the statements that are most consistent throughout the reviews to pinpoint the actual facts instead of personal opinions. This usually gives me a good idea of what to expect. having read all the reviews of Hotel Galeno, I felt it safe... more
