We were tricked into staying at this hotel by LAst inute.com- the title of the "secret" hotel being - located near the centre of Rome. I am not a pcky traveller,- i know you get what you pay for - however - false advertising is jsut mean. the hotel was out in the sticks - take the tube almost to... more

As an experienced traveler (I travel for my job at least once a month to major countries such as France, UK, China, Russia…) I want to say that it was the worst hotel experience in my life. First the location: it is located in run-down area Eight Kilometers from the City Centre! My advise for next visitors -do not take... more

* Located in run-down area * Not centrally located * Basic rooms * Very small shower cubicle. * Dirty carpets - wear socks! * Beds are very, very hard and uncomfortable. Tried to make ours softer with blankets from the cupboard but these were stained and smelt of must and sweat. * Dangerous balcony overlooking car-park. * Breakfast is awful... more

After arriving there after midnight from Leonardo DaVinci airport with an 85 Euro cab fare (on the meter), our taxi driver thought we were crazy to stop there and kept asking us in broken English if it was cheap. The final stage of the journey was completed along graffiti splash alleyways lined with factories and car mechanics. I am sorry... more

Where do i start?.. The hotel is in a bad neighbour hood kind of in the sticks... we didn't bother making the effort most days to get into the city cuz it was so far! It's rundown and I don't advise standing on the balcony as it's on a bit of a lean. We dined in the restaurant (if you... more

This hotel is quite high and well out of town. The housekeeping could have been better - very gruubby! Also, it is very noisy!! Rooms a good size and with a decent balcony. Beds comfortable and bathrooms of average size. A supermarket is about 10 minutes down the road (called a CASINO) as well as a fantastic outdoor pizzeria. Get... more

Very nice hotel. I was afraid of previous bad comments, but found hotel tidy, clean very helpful staff (especially Mauro and housekeeping manager). Rooms comfortable, bathroom really nice and clean. Breakfast is not so variuos but taking into account it is Italy, so it is normal, especially pastries very delicious. We spent 4 nights, had a room on top floor..... more

My husband, an Italian citizen, and I travel to Italy several times a year for business and pleasure, so we are very experienced in staying in hotels throughout Italy - from basic to superior. Plus every summer we take groups of soccer players and their families to Italy. All I can say is... thank god we didn't take one of... more

Having read loads of reviews of this hotel I really didn't know what to expect as some said it was great, other rubbish. I really liked staying at this hotel. The rooms were clean with comfy beds - yes a little basic (like no tea and coffee bits). The hotel staff were helpful, and the shuttle bus was great, although... more

As somoene who has stayed in several hotels in Italy, my family and I were highly disappointed with our experience at the Rouge Et Noir. It definitely could have been much worse, but considering we could have payed the same amount of money and stayed in a much nicer, more conveniently located place we were kicking ourselves for making this... more
