I was looking for a very special Valentine's Day hotel in Rome where I wanted to propose to my girlfriend and stumbled across Villa Spalletti. To be honest I don't think I could have managed the regular rates but the specials which they offered for a Valentine's Day package just squeezed into my budget so as the English would say... more

What an experience: a hotel with grace, charm, efficiency, and a wonderfully warm staff. The Villa is just that: a villa. So it's not for everyone. There's no lively bar scene and the location is out of the main part of Centro Storico--but it's a 5-10 minute walk to the Trevi Fountain and a 15-20 minute walk to the Pantheon.... more

Our stay at the Villa began with a late-night greeting by the night desk manager, who guided us down a manicured garden lane into--YES!--discreet, free parking in the center of Rome. Situated two blocks from the Presidential Palace, security and peaceful evenings are guaranteed, plus a wonderful selection of pathways to virtually all of Rome's wonderful destinations. I don't know... more

This is the loveliest hotel that I know. It is small for a hotel, 12 rooms: quiet and elegant. It truly is like visiting the villa of a family friend, who happens to be out of town, but who has graciously offered you her villa while she is away. There is always someone to answer the door when you arrive.... more

I was intrigued by another review and by the hotel website, but the rates were considerably more than I wanted to spend... then I saw a special package including room, breakfast, massage for two, dinner for two, and a welcome gift-- all for less than the usual cost of the room alone-- so I jumped on it, and what a... more

Villa Spalletti Trivelli is one of those hotels that cannot be overrated. No matter what you think you might experience when booking this hotel, you'll be impressed. I stayed in this hotel with my daughter for her graduation present and it was absolutely amazing. From the free mini bar in the room to the spacious room, awesome breakfast and lovely... more

OK, where to begin. I had one night at the Inn at the Roman Forum, which was extremely impressive but they were booked for the weekend so I had to find another place to stay. Expedia, etc., everything four star and up was booked... so I checked with slh.com and found VIlla Spalletti Trivelli, the only place available on this... more
