Hotel Augustus was a bit surprising at first – as it’s located on the complete second floor of a historical building on piazza Fiume. At first I was puzzled, as I’ve expected to see a reception on the entry level. There is one directly after the entrance on the second floor. Once we’ve reached it – things came back to... more

This hotel was rated a 4* but i feel like most European Hotels this was more like a 3*. But, it has been renovated and everything was brand new. Bathroom small and room small but you are out most of the time and only need it for a shower and a sleep after that long day of walking!! Maps are... more

November 26, 2007. I have just returned from Rome where I spent 6 wonderful days. I stayed at Augustus, a very enjoyable place where I had breakfasts in bed while marveling at the ancient Roman ruins right under my window. The room was spotless clean and quiet especially at night time. It had plazma TV with an easy and free-of-charge... more

When we first entered the building, I thought I was on candid camera. My second thought was that I had been scammed. There is zero resemblance of a hotel, either from the outside or the entryway. A lobby does not exist. The entryway is in shambles and I would recommend wearing a hard hat. The hotel is on the second... more

We booked this through a last minute travel agency in the Termini station. When we went to inspect the room, the front desk person was extremely rude to me and my wife. They placed us in a room in the hotel next door. The bathroom was disgusting.... filled with mildew. PLEASE do not stay here. Trust me. A better option... more

I found the entrance to the hotel, completely inapropiate and durty for a 3th class hotel. The hot water didn´t work, !how can this happen nowadays¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡. I couldn´t have a proper shower in the 3 days I stayed there. The paper on the wall was falling down, wich gave the impresion of a very old room. I forgot a mp3... more

We booked the Hotel Augustus over the internet and stayed for 8 nights. Our window in our room had jammed shut and would not open after the 2nd night we were there making our room very stuffy. We asked several staff members when this would be fixed but nothing was ever done. The air condition also didn't work, turning itself... more

The hotel we stayed in was close enough to the main sights and places we wanted to go. However, if I went again I would not go back. The room was clean enough, but the carpet had stains all over it. The pictures are extremely mis-leading, the front actually looks awful-really run-down. The staff were nice, but the rooms are... more

We booked this hotel via the internet. When we arrived we were told that due to plumbing problems there is no room for us and we were transfered to an alternetive hotel. We were also told that the problem will be fixed tomorow and we will be able to check into our room the next day. When we came back... more

We stayed at this 'Hotel' for 3 nights from 9th February 2005, we feel that this was just a very basic room only with a reception not a Hotel. The first thing that struck us was if there was a fire there was no alternative way out only one way in and one way out. The grouting on the tiles... more
