I really liked the Domus Manlii. It's a hotel in a flat in a residential location, there is a front gate before you get into the flats so good security. The 3 rooms in the hotel were very clean and modern, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom shiny and well-equipped. Breakfast was left in the kitchenette in the front hall which I really liked as we didn't have to get up early! There was a table in our room by the window where we could sit and eat. As much coffee and juice as we wanted, too!
The location was good, right near St Peter's Square (5 min walk). We got up early one day to beat the queues at St Peter's Basilica and the Vatican, which was well worth doing especially as we were so close. There is a tube station 10 minutes walk away, from which you can access the main train station Termini and other areas of Rome. There also seemed to be good bus links near the hotel, and the owner offered to book us a taxi to get to the station on our last day.
