We stayed at the Starotels Excelsior in Bologna as a stopover on the night of 7th Sept. It was clean, with friendly, helpful staff. It's also well situated being opposite the mail rail station and a 15 minute walk from the main square in the historical area. more

While the Excelsior is a bit of large, impersonal, primarilly business-orientated hotel, the degree of comfort, location and price make it a good leisure traveller option as well. It is difficult to find something to complain about this hotel. We stayed at this hotel for one night in July. It is located next to the train station and the Airport shuttle bus and a ca 10 min walk from the Piazza Maggiore. The staff was service minded, the room was absolutely perfect with a giant bathroom, and the breakfast was nice and tasty. more
