Decided to give Bologna a shot after trying the other 'big' places in Italy over the last couple of years. Picked the hotel ater reading positive things on TripAdvisor. It's located in a quiet residential area only 5 minutes walk from the train and bus station, which is handy if your getting the really cheap transfer bus from the airport.... more

I had to stay one night in Bologna, and I've chosen Hotel il Guercino with a last minute booking from the Internet and I got a very discounted rate for 2 people. I arrived to the hotel in the middle of the night. I took a shuttle from the airport and it took app. 25 minutes to the city center.... more

stayed there for 2 nights - rooms are nice but small (no place to hang the coat f.e.) breakfast is excellent walls are kind of thin......during the night although you hear nothing. our office is quite close - so I will come back for sure more

We stayed here for 4 days in September - we booked well enough in advance and received a great price - then upgraded to a superior room. The room was very clean and cheery, with its own patio. I spent six nights at Hotel Il Guercino. The hotel is located next to the railway station in a small and quiet street. Although the city center is not really close, one needs to take a bus to get there. The buses drive frequently till late night. My room was very poor, and had a terrible view (see the picture).... more
