Nothing special....about what you can expect for the room rate. The location is the best feature, only a couple of blocks from the train station and the Piazza Maggiore. Right around the corner from Trattoria Dal Biassanot , arguably the best food in Bologna. more

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel in Bologna. It was very easy to find from the train station and although it was a little grim around the entrance way with grafitti and the sex shop(!), once inside it was really good. The staff at Il Canale could not have been nicer or more helpful. When we arrived the girl on reception helped us to find a parking spot for our rental car and provided us with a resident's permit for the time period we would be staying at the hotel.
