Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Property's Favourite Review
This beautifully refurbished old building is a pearl in the centre of the old city of Parma. It is within easy walking distance of everything one wishes to experience in this delightful city. The room we chose was spacious and serenely quiet. Linen and towels were changed every day. Most impressive, was the reception desk. Such desks these days, are often manned by nonchalant young people who are more interested in chatting to their colleagues or studying their smartphones than attending to their guests. Here, the receptionists actually stand up as you approach and look you straight in the eye with a welcoming smile and promptly solve your queries in a friendly manner. Vittorio himself, the elegant host, was there to receive us.

This hotel was the quietest hotel we stayed at during our visit in Italy. The hotel is sparkling clean and the staff goes the extra mile to be sure your stay is comfortable and enjoyable. There are several delicious restaurants just steps away.

This was my favorite hotel on this trip to Italy. The natural beauty and the history associated with this building added to the charm. This is exactly the esthetic we wanted. Authentic olde world but modernized for comfort. We felt as if we were visiting a family estate, which is exactly what this hotel is. The reception area is open and full of natural light with an amazing staff…Carolina, Eileen were welcoming and helpful on our check in and Matea on our check out. Fabulous location…in the square with the Duomo! Lovely courtyards and cobbled entrance, secure hotel with sliding doors that opened to the courtyard with our room key. The room included a large bedroom with a queen bed, updated bathroom, a seating area and a lovely kitchen complete with dish and glassware and coffee, stove top, refrigerator, microwave, and a washer/dryer! More of an apartment than a typical room. Breakfast was served in the small cafe on the property…great breakfast options included with our room, served table side not buffet style. Last day we had no time for a sit down breakfast but host bagged Parma sandwiches to take away. Very nice!

Together with my wife I came twice to Palazzo Dalla Rosa Prati on our trip through the Emilia Romagna. We can strongly recommend room 2, ( junior suite Ortensia), beautifully decorated and overlooking Duomo square and Battistero. The Palazzo is a medieval mansion located in the heart of Parma. All important sights are within walking distance. The owner, Marchese Vittorio, is a very polite host and his team is extremely thoughtful and attentive. You really feel at home. We can recommend Palazzo Dalla Rosa Prati to every visitor coming to Parma, looking for a distinctive accommodation - very special and upscale at the same time.

We have just had two days at this hotel, unfortunately the experience was not all positive. Firstly the good points. The Palazzo hotel is situated in a perfect position in this wonderful city, right in the middle of all attractions and in fact is alongside both the Duomo and the Baptistery. There are also many cafes, bars and restaurants nearby. We had a deluxe room which had a separate lounge, bedroom, kitchen and small bathroom. Breakfast is free at one of two local cafes which were excellent. The bad news was the air conditioning. On the first night we set the control on 18 deg, but unfortunately it did absolutely nothing to cool the hot bedroom. The unit is located in the lounge and was never effective enough to cool the other rooms. We spent a very hot night and complained to staff the next morning. They promised to look into it while we were out. The 2nd evening nothing had changed and we had had no feedback from staff. Once again another hot night. Staff next morning when checking out were not concerned and just said that we could of had a fan to help, and that the aircon was being updated next year !!!! This is just not good enough, especially for how much we paid. Recommend a different hotel if you are coming to beautiful Parma.

Fabulous place. An old house near the cathedral with its own charm. It has been looked after well. The room was huge and really comfortable with a kitchen. The staff were wonderful. The place is near restaurants, town centre and sights. Highly recommend.
