My friend and I stayed here for a night, stopping over from Italy on the way to Croatia. When we arrived we were a little put off by the aesthetics of the building from the outside, but once inside we were more than happy. The man behind the desk (Luigio i think he was called) was excellent. His English was... more

we have just returned from a wonderful trip to include Croatia Slovenia and Italy flying in and out of Trieste. We were to stay one night at the Holiday Inn between slovenia and Italy. We arrived alittle tired hungry and thirsty. First impressions the building is ugly a concrete monstrosity in piece of wasteland off the autostrada! The rest was... more

The Holiday Inn Trieste-Duino offered a basic, no frills place to rest my head. I was in the Duino/Trieste area for two nights and needed a moderately priced hotel where I could be somewhat familiar with their services (thus my familiarity with Holiday Inn). The staff are somewhat aloof and are unbothered by your patient waiting by the desk. I... more

This place is very very basic. Good size room. No AC that I could find and we couldn't open the windows due to risk of being eaten a live by a million mozzies. Breakfast was not great. Service was mediocre. The place wasn't exactly clean. I was itching to leave.... quite literally. more

I stayed here for 3 nights to attend a conference in nearby Duino. The hotel was absolutely fine. Rooms were clean if a bit tired and in need of a facelift. Breakfast was very good. Staff were extremely courteous and friendly. Given that the hotel is between a motorway and a main road it is very quiet. I would not... more

Surprisingly this roadside Holiday Inn is worth a stay while you head east. The rooms were adequate and the lobby bar staffed. There was even a view of the Adriatic out the window that made me want to stay and explore another time. The adjoining gas station had interesting foreing exchange rate on Serbian Dinars if you are heading in... more

What a relief to find this hotel after a mammoth 14 hours trying to get from Tuscany to Croatia! Of course, the idea of a Holiday Inn didn't do much for me but we were desperate. To be honest I alwaya thought that a character-less hotel wasn't an "authentic" enough experience (hence my disappointment with a lot of other hotels... more

We (a family of four, two kids under age 12) were on our way back to Eastern Slovenia from Venice, when we decided it was late and we'd stop for the night. Trieste was the next town on the highway and there was a sign for this hotel. We pulled in around midnight, and the front desk person was very... more

An ex-Forte hotel, accessible through the small service station or the road parallel to it, this hotel is surprisingly quiet. It's an interesting concrete building, with a certain retro style to it. Rooms are large and comfortable, corridors light and airy. Bring bug repellant - location (not hotel) make for many mosquitos in warm months Breakfast buffet is quite extensive... more
