Lovely , old hotel in main sqaure. Lcation excellent. Near everything. If you want a view of the Square, ask for the pricey superior room. Our room faced just another building. For the sightseeing traveler, the Duchi d'Aosta is way over priced and would be a bad value if it were half the cost. Without question it has the best location in Trieste, but the service is uniformly haughty & inept - as if they are saving themselves for someone more important than you to show up. We stayed here for a few days to celebrate wedding anniversary. Rooms were very comfortable. Staff were very helpful. Harry's Grill provided wonderful food and excellent views of the main piazza. more
