We had three trips to Trieste in September and spent the first two at Hotel Alabarda. The first was bad but the second convinced us we would not return. We spent the third trip at Hotel Impero and were very pleased. See also our review for Impero. Hotel Alabarda has a few positive things going for it: nice personnel, nice... more

Good, clean hotel, large room (triple) and bathroom. Great breakfast and friendly staff. Conveniently located near the town's center, at walking distance from restaurants and fun. They offer 30 min. free internet per day and across the street is a small supermarket, very usefull. Trieste is a lovely, relaxed and friendly city and Miramar and it's park is certainly worth... more

Mid to late September, my girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel in Trieste. It was a little odd to head up to the third floor in a tiny tiny elevator, but... it was nice and close to the bus station / train station, so it was very convenient to get to and from Trieste (we flew in from London,... more

Good clean third floor hotel. We stopped there with our 6 year old daughter who the staff made very welcome. The room was air conditioned and breakfast was buffet style with a good range of choices. Ideal for city centre and a short walk from the station. more

The hotel is located very centrally, about 5 minutes walk from the train station, and is itself no more than a couple of minutes walk to the Grand Canal and the centre of town- the location cannot be faulted. The hotel itself is located on the third floor of a residential apartment, which is I suppose unique, but not a... more

My husband, my daugther and me stayed in a triple room with bathroom, with air conditioned just one night. The room and the bathroom were clean. At first we were surprised that the hotel was situated in the third floor. Very old building. Very central location. We could not fall asleep because of a bell that was ringing during the... more

I stayed at this hotel recently, and have only good things to say about it. The location is fantastic, the room was very clean, and the bed was comfortable [foam mattress]. The staff were very friendly and spoke good English. Internet access on site - they have to take a photocopy of your passport in order for you to use... more

I have just returned from a week-long visit to Trieste were I stayed in the Hotel Alabarda. If I ever come back to Trieste again I'll be sure to stay elsewhere. To be honest, the hotel has its advantages. Its very convenient to the train station, the principal tourist area around Piazza Unita, all the shopping, transportation etc. The room... more

This small hotel is tucked away on the third floor of a building in central Trieste - minutes walk away from the centre of town. We stayed there for 3 nights in May 2005 and found the rooms to be clean and modern with good bathrooms. The young staff are very helpful and friendly and there is a decent breakfast.... more

Best value hotel we have ever had. It was so central. Its deceptive at first as hotel is located on the 3rd floor of the building. Staff were very nice, rooms spotless and it was only 150 each for 5 nights including continental breakfast. Trieste was beautiful and so central to Venice, Slovenia & Croatia. It was an added bonus... more
