My family four stayed here in July, 2008 for two nights. We reserved our room about two weeks before the trip, so it was kind of last minute, as there was not availability anyplace else. To get to the actual town of Riomaggiore you must walk down a large hill, which is not too fun walking back up. I walked... more

We loved our trip to Cinque Terre!!! Our B&B however was just ok. We arrived at 9:30 after taking a late train. The main office to the hotel was closed when we arrived so we had to ring the bell and have someone come down to check us in. This lady spoke very little English and was not the friendliest.... more

Made a reservation 1 month in advance. 110 euro/night. Horrible room in basement with overwhelming smell of urine when we opened windows. Windows overlooked walls and alleys. Shower flooded whole room every time we used it. Young male Italian front desk person was extremely rude and offensive. Screamed at us when we complained. Breakfast was horrible. Pre-packaged bread products. Met... more

Ca' dei Duxi is a pretty simple hotel - but if you want luxury in this area, you stay in another town beyond the Cinque Terre, and ride the frequent trains into one of the towns anyway. Our room faced the main street, and had a nice view over it across to the hill to the south (see my photo).... more

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The rooms were all right but the hotel staff was very rude. Upon check-in, the desk clerk told me my family would have to wait because she was working on "a different, delicate matter." And then she would not give me my passport back. Italy hotels are to take a copy of... more

After having called a number of hotels/guesthouses in the Cinque Terre only to find that they were some way out of the town or incredibly expensive or full months in advance, I was pleased to find the Locanda Ca' dei Duxi which offered us three clean, quiet and centrally located rooms for only E90 per night (for single occupancy). I... more

You have to be fit to stay at Riomaggiore! You will reach the hotel 3/4 of the way up the hill, on via Columbo. But it doesn't stop there. Our room was on the top floor so there were plenty of steps to go! The hotel was well appointed although our room was small, as most Italian hotels are. There... more

The room was nice for 3 people, although it was a lot of climbing, we were basically on the 4th floor and after the hill, we found ourselves trying to limit our coming and going from the hotel. I was impressed at their environmental protection aspects. Their toilet paper was special and they used th floresent light bulbs that use... more

Stayed unexpectly for a night , called in the evening and there was a room available! The owner met us at the top of the hill and help us park the car in the private garage. Warning, you will have strong legs upon leaving this town! The room was spacious and clean, the view was beautiful! Off season it was... more

Our room would have been just about ok at 50 euros but 110 (plus 20 for parking) is really too much for a poky charmless, viewless room down a horrible steep staircase with an unacceptabe entrance hall. Breakfast was italy at its worse - pre-packed buondì motta and fette biscottate, long life milk in windowless cellar - so what if... more
