It is definitely a long walk (200 steps) down to the apt. You need to be traveling light and be an avid walker - but that is why people go to Cinque Terre. We have kids and were staying a while so we had too much luggage. We were able to arrange to have it transported up by the small... more

This hotel has a great location, perched high above the cliffs, with great views of Cinque Terra. The rooms are basic, but clean. The main problem was the service (or lack thereof) and the attitude of the staff. Firstly, when we arrived, we had to make up the beds ourselves, with the linen provided. In the restaurant (food OK), the... more

Cinque Terre is a must! This hotel was in a beautiful location on the cliffs over looking the water. The restaurant had great food, fantastic views, and affordable prices. The rooms had kitchens so one night we cooked. The hotel was a $25 euro cab ride from La Spazia Train station. Also, an easy bus ride from Riomaggiore. The one... more

This place is a little out of the way, and a bit difficult to get to without a car. As we didn't have a car, we had to take the green shuttle up the mountain. The last one leaves at about 6:30 p.m. That being said, it's a great place to stay if you are kicking off your holiday, but... more

Overall, I wasn't impressed with my two day experience. Location: I think that the location is quite nice if you don't mind being on the outskirts of Riomaggiore. If you do not have car, you will have to depend on the Cinque Terre bus system and the latest bus is at 6:30pm, which is quite limiting. Room: The room was... more

After a lot of googling for the perfect place to stay in Cinque Terre, we finally opted for Borgo di Campi - and we were absolutely delighted! Having read all the reviews and seen a few negative ones, I'm completely baffled how anyone could have had a bad experience there! The person who wrote that the staff were so unfriendly,... more

i stayed here for 5 nights with my boyfriend at the end of august 2008. we were in europe for 8 weeks, the cinque terre was our half-way point, and we had expected it to be our favorite stop on the trip. sadly, we were wrong. this is not to say that il borgo di campi was awful, nor to... more

The only really good thing about this place is its view and restaurant . We were less impressed with the actual accommodation and service. The owner/manager (male) was so disintersted and unwelcoming. He even ignored us when we said 'buongiorno' in the mornings. Our luggage was supposed to be taken to the room, which is a very long and steep... more

We booked Il Borgo for 5 days for part our honeymoon. The hotel has a fantastic view & the surrounding towns are wonderful. We would definitely not recommend the park or hotel for anyone over 50 unless super fit as the transport, hills, hikes & steps are a challenge. We are both active, fit individuals ( I am a professional... more

Gigi and Linda were very hospitable - friendly and helpful whenever we needed anything. The hotel is indeed perched high with great views. About the only negative was one of the rooms was dark and a bit damp, located mostly below ground with only a wooden door which doesn't allow in any light. The patio outside this room could also... more
