We booked this hotel as it was close to the station and we were coming in from travel late at night. The hotel didn't have our booking and after 20 mins or so of providing all the paperwork of our prepaid booking, we finally got a room. But no city info, no help regarding anything at all. None of the... more

The hotel is near the railway station and within walking distance to the port and the hotel room was quite noisy. There was no safe or tea/ coffee facilities in the room. The neighborhood felt unsafe. The pillows were the most uncomfortable, hard pillows I ever slept in my life, As a matter of fact I could not sleep on... more

As I have found the star rating in Italy is inconsistent, Hotel Soglia was clean and basic but not a 4*! It was near the railway station and within walking distance to the port. Area was a busy commercial area and the hotel room was quite noisy. There was no safe or tea coffee facilities in the room Parking was... more

For the price of this hotel I was rather disappointed. The reception is bright and modern, the staff friendly and helpful but the rooms were a real let down. Lots of black furniture and grey curtains and carpets, reminded me a lot of the 80s. I just thought the overall impression of the hotel room was dark and miserable. The... more

Convenient location near the railway station. Not a terrible neighbourhood tought. As safe as a any other large european town, so one needs to be carefull but it is possible to go for a walk at night. We didn't have a car but we think parking might be a problem. Staff OK. Good breakfast. Rooms dated (trying to look 50's,... more

We booked through an agent who charges us 38GBP per night. Not bad for a 4 star. We were initally shocked on the decor. The place was mainiy painted in 'Loud' red. Even the kettle and table lamp matched. In a way it looks quite sleazy was my first reaction. Probably great for honey mooners! but not for family taste. Apart from... more

My husband and I spent 1 night at the Ramada in Genova, Italy last July (2005) as a last minute change to our plans due to the Italian rail strike. We were able to book the room using Expedia in Ventimiglia that morning for $100. The room looked like it came straight from the 80s with the black and white... more

The room I booked was the cheapest available in Genoa for the night I stayed. I was amazed to find it was actually an apartment with two floors. It was immaculate and clean. The evening meal was great and well priced in a very trendy restaurant, the buffet breakfast was vast and comprised of everything you could think of. The... more

We were in Genoa for a conference and having traded notes with our fellow conferees we've decided that relatively speaking this hotel was among the best available in Genoa as of September 2005. The hotel is quite close to the rail station and in as nice a neighborhood as seems to be available. The first room we were offered was... more

All in all, our stay at the Ramada was extremely pleasant and enjoyable. The only drawback was that the room was a bit smaller than what I expected. I agree with one of the previous reviewers that the area seemed a bit seedy but we didn't have any problems, and the proximity of the hotel to the train station really... more
