In June, we were vacationing in Cinque Terre and my husband fell and broke his back. I can not tell you the nightmare we experienced at the local hospital in La Spezia. The care was horrible and the caregivers were uncaring and terrible. I moved from our rental house in Vernazza to the Jolly Hotel to be near the hospital... more

We spent a night at this property owned by a professional, reputable Hotel Group (NH Hotels). We found it OK. The location is excellent - our room had great water views.Breakfast is the normal Italian fare (Italians make croissants BADLY!) - rather bland & uninteresting, unlike their usual cuisine! The problem in a lot of Italian towns is parking &... more

Stayed here two nights. Very small rooms and lots of traffic noise. Beds saggy, pillows lumpy, dining staff grumpy, food below standard. Buffet Breakfast was cold and served with a snarl plastic glasses for the orange juice and no hot water for the tea. Ate in the Dining Room. Spagetti and meat sauce arrived without meat. Apparently ran out of... more

Located on the riveria. Close to downtown. Almost all rooms have a view of the bay. Rooms are a bit small for a 4 star hotel. Parking in the street 12 Euro a day. No bar but free selfservice coffee. Breakfast buffet is OK. more

The hotel is quite old and needs some serious renovations. The beds are old and uncomfortable and the rooms are not very clean. We stayed 3 nights and had to change hotels for the rest of out stay in La Spezia because the hotel rooms were so dirty we couldn't stand to stay any longer. We had prepaid for the... more

Well located hotel, just across from the promenade. Stayed one night in La Spezia as we were unable to get to our house in Cargale, as the mountain roads were not passable due to heavy snow. We had 2 rooms on the 7th floor with a nice view of the bay, and ship yard. The breakfast was very nice and... more

Very nice hotel in downtown La Spezia. Its probably used locally as a business hotel. The staff was very nice and the rooms were nice; bathroom was nice as well. Breakfast was above average. I found the location merely ok. The hotel is not close to the train station which is key to your travels to the Cinque Terre. So... more

The hotel is a great value with excellent views of the bay. We wanted to visit the Cinque Terre area and Portovenere, which makes this an excellent choice as a base. The city has a lovely promenade and boat rides to nearby towns. Unfortunately the city has an Italian Navy Base and lacks restaurants, which for us is an important... more

La Spezia is well located and is in an excellent location for those desiring to proceed on to the Cinque Terra region. You can leave by boat from the waterfront which is within easy walking distance of the hotel. The hotel is clean and comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. more
