We had a great weekend at the Hotel Montesole. It is in a very small typical Italian village about 14km away from Lake Como. The area is exceptionally beautiful and definitely worth a visit. The village is a nice escape from the hustle and bustle of the extremely busy area close to the lake. There are a couple of very nice restaurants within walking distance where you can eat with the locals and eat extremely well! We were a bit disappointed in the hotel's breakfast offering as well as the bar which, although well stocked, was not well staffed. they also never had any ice available, even though we warned them that we would need ice in the evenings. The hotel restaurant does not serve dinner. Apart from this, the rooms are very clean, modern and neat, spacious enough and air conditioned. Golf courses very close by.
