Hotel Lido Perla Nera is possibly the best 3-star hotel I have ever seen. The hotel is a good 15-minute walk from the city center. However, with the beautiful promenade and view towards Isole Bella and Lago Maggiore, we actually found this 15-minute walk quite relaxing and enjoyable. The hotel is located just a few steps away from the Mottarone... more

This was a great find. The staff were efficient, friendly and helpful and the rooms were kept superbly clean with a daily change of bed linen. The food was better than average for a 3 star hotel and although not so up market as its sister hotel the Astoria where I stayed last year, certainly better value and friendlier staff. It... more

Strictly speaking, this hotel is located in the "hamlet" of Carciano, just out of Stresa. It is a genuine 20 minute very pleasant stroll along the paved "promenade" into Stresa centre, but having it's own ferry landing stage - obviously, not all ferries stop here, but the ones to the "Borromean Islands" certainly do. Always use the public ferries -... more

We had a fantastic holiday at this hotel. The hotel was very clean. The staff and management were so friendly and helpful. The rooms we had were very spacious and had a balcony with a superb view overlooking the lake. The swimming pool was very good, our son enjoyed a swim every day. The hotel suppiled the towels so you... more

We picked this hotel "with a pin" off the internet for a short break. and it was a good choice. Friendly staff, all spoke adequate English, very nice large room. Restaurant was a little disappointing in terms of menu. Minimal breakfast choice and rather uninspiring dinner menu. Staff very good though but better to take a fifteen minute walk into... more

We liked our stay at this hotel: The rooms were clean, all the personnel was friendly. Our room was at the back of the building (facing the mountains) and very quiet, but without a view. At the front of the hotel (facing Lago Maggiore) there was a disco over the street - but we did not hear it in our... more

We have just returned from here after a week - which is just not enough time. This small friendly hotel is situated away from the town right next to the Mottorone cable car and with brilliant views of the 3 lakes, and surrounding mountains. Boats go from the lido just a stone's throw from the hotel to go across -... more

the hotel is nicely renovated and was comfortable BUT it was not quiet - they advertise "quiet and tranquil" , but there is a night club nearby ,and the night we were there they had a party at this club with Karaoke music until 3 am !! more

This hotel entirely exceeded my expectations. The staff were invariably friendly and helpful, and the meals - while not cordon bleu - were excellent. The restaurant manager always suggested decent wines to go with the meals. I am a vegetarian and the usual option was an omelette, but he over-rode this and asked the chef to prepare alternatives, even though... more

For a Three Star Hotel we were pleasantly surprised with the helpful and friendly staff (Family Run) and excellent evening meal (four course) home cooked. The Hotel was spotlessly clean with clean linen every day. Boats, cable car near by,twenty minutes pretty walk from main part of Stresa. So many Kodak moments! Only down side were the trains running along... more
