Wow this place is quite something. Behind the typically Italian looking facade is a small mansion house with frescos and domed ceilings. This large family home has beautiful large open spaces and you really do feel like aristocracy when arriving back each day from seeing the sites each day. We were greeted by Claudio upon arrival and he was very... More

The palazzo has been in the family for over fifty years and is every inch the grand palazzo; marble staircase, chandeliers, lofty elegant rooms with stunning frescoes and ornate fireplaces. The B&B rooms are special too. Expect spacious rooms, antique dressers, comfortable beds and stylish vintage bathrooms. Add to this its great location, tranquility, delicious breakfasts and natural kindness of... More

Definitely had the most character of all that we stayed during our 2 week trip (Mantova, Lake Iseo, Varenna). As previous reviews have stated, huge ceilings with frescoes (really cool), massive sitting room, formal dining room (more for show), our actual room had a balcony and a big bathroom. Small knick knacks, books, etc...felt like a home. Nice breakfast each... More

The rooms in this B&B are incredible. Twenty foot ceilings with frescoes painted on them, carved stone fireplaces, and beautiful furniture. The location is very close to the heart of Mantova, on a very quiet street. The hostess is exceptional, and we enjoyed our stay immensely.

Not because I am Italian , but I think that places like this are the epitome of our past splendour and traditional art of welcoming . In a palace that in most of other countries will be considered a national monument , you will be somehow escorted into a travelling experience remarkably special . Starting from entry this spectacular building... More

We were made to feel so welcome by Signora Bini and had the same car parking experience as LibandGuy! The room was fab and the main sitting areas absolutely beautiful. It is so lovely to stay in places where the historic fabric has been so respected and the owners are so totally charming.

My wife and I, plus another couple, long-time friends, spent 3 nights at Palazzo Arrivabene last October, and everything was wonderfully enjoyable. The Palazzo is the home of Signora Bini and her son Claudio, and you couldn't ask for better hosts. The Palazzo itself is beautiful. Our large rooms were very reasonably-priced, and we had the beautiful living and dining... More

We spent 2 nights in Mantova at this lovely B&B. We were greeted by Rene who walked back with my husband to the general parking lot where we had left our car, and then directed him on backing down the side street so that he could get into the courtyard parking area without driving under any surveillance cameras on the... We had a wonderful 3 night stay here in Mantova, and really appreciated the way we were made to feel so at home. Yes it is a palazzo but a lived-in one. When we had an early start one day for a trip to Parma for a ham/cheese tour our hosts prepared and set out our breakfast, even putting the... More

My wife and I spent 4 nights at Palazzo Arrivabene. What a beautiful place to stay - built in 1491 this was truely an amazing experience staying here. The hosts, Rene and her son Claudio are fanastic - warm and very friendly. Breakfast with Rene was a treat and a great start to the day. Her home made cooking is... More
