this small hotel is situated in one the most beautiful area of milano. a deprived central zone of wealth and luxury but flood of the charm of other times. Here you can discover some small secrets of a authentic charme of true hospitality and felt. The rates are not always the same and some time are very high but they... more

Several guidebooks had recommended this in addition to someone we knew living in Milan who had used it for visiting relatives. Decor very tired with a mismatch of bedspreads, curtains etc. Bathroom old with no shower curtain (although plenty of hot water and strong shower from the attachment ) but bath only filled up using shower attachment which had to... more

Be warned when booking this "quanit" hotel. No doorman will help you with your luggage (indeed, if you arrive out of hours, the hotel itself may be completely locked), there is certainly no room service, no "staff" to speak of (one surly teenage boy handed me the room key, and pointed meto the ricketey stair case) and not even any... more

My husband and I spent a month in Europe on our honeymoon this fall, and during that time we sought out hotels that were arty, unique, in interesting neighborhoods, and affordable. Of the seven hotels that we stayed in, this was the only place where we felt that we has struck out. It was by far the most expensive place... more

We stayed at the Antica Locanda Solferino last week. There were pluses and minuses, but overall it was a pretty good experience. The staff were wonderful -- cheerful and helpful, and greeted us by name whenever we came in. We had a large (by European standards) room with a genuine king sized bed, which was very comfortable, although the sheets... more

My fiance and I stayed here last year. We enjoyed the hotel immensely. It is like a secret, old bed and breakfast. We would request the time for our breakfast and every morning they would bring it up to our room. The bed was very big. We had a big bathtub where we took baths every evening after sightseeing all... more

My wife and I stayed at the Antica Locanda Solferino, as a couple of Italian friends did at the same time (mid March 2004). All four of us loved the place, its furnishings, its old style atmosphere, the courtesy of the staff, etc. It is NOT a sleek, glass-and-steel building; quite the contrary, but its physical facilities really provide a... more

If I had the money to stay at the Four Seasons in Milan, I would. There is nothing wrong with clean modern rooms, excellent service, and a staff that speaks English. And I imagine you still could get a good Italian experience here, contrary to what Londoners may say. (Given the quality of similarly priced hotels in London, anything in... more

Yes, very charming.... until 2 a.m. when the adjacent disco starts blaring thier music then throw the used beer bottles one by one in the trash bins below your "courtyard view" window at 5 a.m. Also not so charming is the shower with a 2-inch protective lip and slow drainage, resulting in a flooded bathroom floor. more
