My friend and I just returned from our weekend in Milan having booked our accommodation for 3 nights with Venere.com after much research on the internet. The website suggested that rooms come with terrace and the pictures make the rooms and hotel look very good. When we arrived we were given a room that was literally in the basement of the hotel!!! Needless to say there was barely even a window let alone a terrace! You could not open the tiny barred window as it came out at pavement level onto the main street (Via Porpora). We came back up to tell the receptionist we were not happy with the room. He said that the hotel was full and we would have to at least stay in that room that night and he would check if he could move us the next morning but made it sound like it would be a very big deal.
