Loved my stay in this wedding cake hotel. The architecture is amazing. The position overlooking the lake very special. Delightful staff, comfortable rooms, just a great experience in this truly beautiful little Italian lakeside village. Expect old world charm with a modern approach to service. Great food as well.

Can't say enough about the Crespi! We stayed just two nights and it was absolutely amazing. We were booked into a fantastic room with a great view of the garden. And the service was absolutely fantastic! The staff were perhaps the best we've ever met. Design and decor were amazing, we were in awe of our room and enjoyed the... More

This place is simply amazing!! Worth a detour any day! We were here for two glorious nights of our honeymoon and were spoilt beyond our expectations. We received a complementary upgrade to the gold room which was absolutely stunning and very spacious. We loved the breakfasts and the dinner at the hotel restaurant was well worth a trip from Australia... More

I booked this hotel after reading the other reviews on tripadvisor and was bitterly disappointed. Firstly, the exterior of the hotel was lovely as is the interior building, the theme is followed inside through furnishings, fittings and wall colours but just does not gel – the overall effect is tacky. Our room was large but the flimsy door painted in... More

What architecture! This is a complete pastcihe of about 10 different styles but it works. We had a fabulous suite absolutely huge. Usual problems in Italian hotels - water pressure, in fact when we were there there was no water from 10 am til 6pm due to a storm that had come through 2 days prior. No bottled water provided... Go and stay there and expect to take a journey back in time when meals were divine and took hours to savour. The staff were so kind and helpful, there to please you no matter what the request and the building was architecturally true to its time. The 2 star Michelin chef deserves his rating and his inventiveness includes taste,... More

This is the real thing. A classic and unique villa, wonderful and hospitable service, fabulous restaurant and all adjacent to the most beautiful unspoilt lake in the Italian lakes district (Lago d'Orta). Our only regret is that we only had 1 night to experience this exceptional find and make the most of all the facilities. Our suite was enormous and... More

What an experience! The highlights were the building itself... a folly actually!...the 2 Michelin star restaurant, and breakfast outdoors on the terrace. The rooms were huge and comfortable - quite run down in places (bathrooms etc) with hertage fixtures, fitting and furniture. I wouldn't think about this as a 'luxury' experience... more of an adventure ;) You can't actually see... More

This was our second stay at the Villa Crespi, the first being over 24 months before. What made this hotel different was that the staff recognised our previous stay and made us feel so warmly welcome - Oh that some larger hotels might do the same. The rooms are large, comfortable and in the Villa Crespi tradition, very unusual. We... More

Villa Crespi exceeded our expectations. Wonderful location in a glorious building with premier fine dining to match. Concierge, bar and wait staff we always professional and most accommodating. Breakfast was delightful and dinner is a glorious gastronomic experience! Our suite was filled with period antiques, comfortable bed, with a lovely view of the grounds and lake.
