We stayed at the Crespi for 4 nights at the end of September 2007. We had booked a superior room with partial lake view for E280 / night. We were shown to a sparsely furnished and plain box of a room (looked like grandma hadn’t renovated since the war) which had no shower (just a tub) but the worst was... more

Absolutely scary. We were barely greeted by a staff that looked like a family from a haunted house and they appeared to not have been expecting us. We booked a package that included fresh flowers and wine in the room, a grand tasting menu with wines, and a beautiful suite. None of which we recieved. The restaurant was not open... more

Even before one experiences the excellent food and service at the Villa Crespi, the architecture and interior design make this hotel worth staying at. Due to the idyosycratic whim of the original owner, the hotel was constructed as a Moorish fantasy. Since I've never been a big fan of "theme" hotels, I had some concerns that this could result in... more

Stayed here 3 nights in August. Luxurious hotel with opulent, large room built in Moorish style. The room had a balcony overlooking the lake. The restaurant in the hotel is outstanding - a true dining experience -with numerous waiters buzzing around tending to all your needs and the food worthy of the Michelin hat. Lake Orta is a great location... more

We had our wedding in the villa crespi on august 4th 2007. It was simply amazing . We had 130 people at the wedding and had the most astounding 7 course dinner . They really deserve their 2 michillen stars . The service was outstanding and the wines reccommended by their sommelier were just perfect. We hired a fab orchestra... more

This is defnitely a hotel designed for the romantic, but not of the shaby chic variety. From the quality of the linen to the fablous jacuzzi bath (check before hand for a bath rather than a shower ensuite) the room was perfect. Having beautiful wooden floors and lovely wallpaper also adds to the abience of the room. Restuarant is expensive... more

We had our wedding reception at Villa Crespi. What a wonderful experience. If you are looking for something different, romantic, grand, posh, colourful and fairy tale like - this is the place. The service was outstanding and the food was out of this world. Absolutely beautiful! We stayed at the Gold suit for our wedding night. We felt like royalty,... more

My husband and six year old son and I stayed at Villa Crespi for four days on an auction package that we had won. We were in a suite which was fabulous, large, elegantly furnished. There is not much to the grounds of the hotel and the heat and numerous mosquitoes made us want to stay indoors . We also... more

We were lucky.....no weddings, great room, great food, great service. We stayed for a whole week and everything was perfect. Yes, it was a little pricey and had we been inundated with weddings that week I would have been very dissapointed but we weren't. I think you really need to "get" a place like this. We ate twice in the... more

Ok, the sun was shining, so it all looked nice. Bu even when it is raining this is a remarkable place. In here you will meet the exellence of Italy. Strange building with an arabic flavour, huge rooms that make you feel you are living in another century and above all the magnificent restaurant with a Michelin star!. If you... more
