This hotel is a gem on all counts. Their attention to detail, their customer service orientation, very obvious quest to maintain & renew their hotel while at the same time keeping its original charm, delicious food, breathtaking location and their incredibly cheery & helpful team make this hotel such a joy to experience. We spent four days at Hotel Cavallino D'Oro. We wish it could have been longer. The hotel itself is fantastic. The staff could not have done more for us. The location is unbeatable. The atmosphere is tops. Hotel Cavallino D'Oro is now the standard by which we will judge all future places in which we stay. It will be difficult... more

The room was amazing - skylights, separate tub and shower, very comfortable bed...the employees were extremely friendly and helpful...the food was beyond compare - the breakfast buffet was probably one of the best we've ever experienced, the dinners were great, very extensive wine list. The town is wonderful and the scenery speaks for itself. Highly recommended. more

We stayed here for 1 week. We arrived via car. We very much liked this hotel. It was very comfortable with nice sized room and modern bathroom. We normally do not go for the half board option but did so this time. This included breakfast and an evening meal. The breakfast was very good with typical European items (coffee, yogurt,... more

This hotel has it all beginning with the owners, Susanne and Stefan Urthaler. They have created a very warm and inviting atmosphere to greet their guests. Their "personal" touch is definitely felt everywhere in the hotel especially with the staff. The guest rooms are decorated with taste as they accurately represent this region of Italy. The resturant was excellent as... more

This hotel is recommended by Rick Steves among others. The hotel is nice and the rooms are pleasant. The breakfasts are good, but the dinners tended to be quite uneven in quality and preparation. The owner casts a dominating presence over the place and treats the property like his special little fiefdom. There is a definite pecking order. Preference in... more

We spent 2 days in August, 2007 at the Cavellino d'Oro. We can't say enough good things about it. The room was great (superior double with balcony and view) , excellent and helpful hosts, picture postcard town, terrific food. It was the place where we received the most for our money out of 11 different cities and hotels in Italy,... more

Actually, we have just got back last night, having spent six days there and then 5 in the Zillertal. I can reassure you all it was fine! AFTER we booked it, I looked at Tripadvisor and was reassured by what I saw there. My wife and I had a couple of niggles:- most rooms didn't have a balcony and there... more

The hotel is very centrally located, in the charming village of Castelrotto. Service at the table was very friendly and professional at the same time, with excellent food and good choices every day (half-pension). Service at the front desk was much less good: not too many smiles, no help proposed for luggage (no elevator in the hotel), no "how did... more
